I thought Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg was a privacy expert?
One would think she'd be speaking out against the Patriot Act, illegal wiretapping, spy satellites being turned on our citizens etc but she's on MSNBC talking to Russert about Christmas ---- ?

2. She's not a political person
Is there not anybody who has enough stature that DU will not attack them over the stupidest shit on the planet. I wish I lived back east so I could get an autographed copy. It's a wonderful book full of Christmas poems and historic info. What do you care.

3. it has nothing to do with politics
This is about our Constitutional rights and our right to privacy, and she's an expert on the subject. She's written several books on the subject - both during the Clinton administration - and they're weren't political at all. This isn't about politics.

One of the reasons the public isn't worked up about the erosion of our rights is because no one is talking about it. She has a certain stature with the public and writing books about Christmas and telling stories about her pony and Neil Diamond just seems like sweeping the atrocities under the rug - again. I care because I care about my rights.

5. Perhaps she has the right to privacy..

and you should respect that. Don't you think she's spent enough of her life under the public political microscope? Who are you to criticize anybody else for not measuring up to 'your' expectations.... because 'you care' about 'your' rights.

7. interesting....
She's written numerous books and was just interviewed by Tim Russert - that doesn't sound like an ultra-private person to me. But that's okay, let's talk about Christmas...

4. yeah, she should have been writing about the Christmas Patriot Act

Kennedy is also a historian, and from what I've heard on tv interviews, she has written a pretty interesting book about Christmas traditions.

On Martha's show, they baked a Christmas cake recipe from Martha Washington -- a huge cake that called for 40 eggs! And the topping was quite unique, meringue. It was pretty funny!

8. CKS is NOT a politician. She is NOT a political activist.
She is an attorney and writer about political subjects, among other things.

How she spends her time is her own personal business. If she doesn't want to become a career politician or talking-head gadfly that's her choice.

More power to her. Sheesh.

9. It seems like her books are her preferred method, for making her views known
