Cheney: Congress `irresponsible' for not passing defense bill

Vice President Dick Cheney lampooned Congress this afternoon for failing to pass what he views as a reasonable wartime defense spending bill.

"Congress' approach to war funding has been irresponsible ..." he told an audience of largely military veterans today at the National World War I Museum in Kansas City. (Video here.)

During his 3 1/2 hour visit, Cheney also visited the Leawood home of Daniel and Diana Henry in Leawood, where he raised money for Nick Jordan, a candidate in Kansas' 3rd Congressional District.

On defense spending, Cheney took exception with Congress' insistence on adding provisions that call for withdrawing most combat troops by this time a year from now. That, Cheney said, is unacceptable.

2. Fuck you Dick, how about finding some of those gazillion dollars that disappeared instead?
Or better yet, how about recouping some of the Halliburton/Kellog, Brown and Root
money that was siphoned off into offshore accounts?
The tax payers are no longer fooled by your corporate greed.
We don't want to give you another dime.

5. My point exactly!
Waxman and others investigated the OUTRAGEOUS
waste by Halliburton, Kellog, Brown and Root-
$100.00 dollars for a bag of laundrey?
Monogrammed towels?
WTF!
Now they want MORE money?
For who?
Certainly not the troops.

4. 200 billion for military operations...
for 2008. I thought the surge was working so well, that the troops were coming home?
