Framing/Slogans: Raising the debt IS raising taxes

A couple of people said I should post this, so there it is.

Corollary:

You cannot lower taxes and increase the debt at the same time.

1. Here's another: Cutting taxes on the rich effectively raises them for everyone else.
To clarify, say me and a rich man owe $105 in debt. He is paying $10/year to pay it off, and I am paying $5. We will pay off the debt in 7 years if all goes as planned, with him paying $70 and me $35.

If he suddenly decides he'll only pay $5/year (a 50% tax cut), now our debt won't be paid off for 10.5 years, and he will pay 52.50 and I will pay 52.50.
