4. I got one when I was baptized, and another when I was confirmed
Then again, I am a confirmed non-believer nowadays, and no one has ever given me a certificate. I'm a "confirmed batchelor," too; I can't provide a certificate but I do have references. :toast:

8. certified, huh?
My guess: he goes to a mainstream, conservative or fundy church and is not a Catholic, Mormon, Unitrian or a member of a mainstream liberal church.

10. I have often wondered
how you confirm when someone says they have been "born again"

I mean, shouldn't they have a placenta to show you?

Apparently they have a certification process though. I wonder if there is a test? Is it harder than, say, the driving test?

Do "born again" Christians consider those who don't make that claim to be inferior? Just wannabes?

But here is the real rub:

Call me silly, but I don't think there is such a thing. So that means that EVERY ONE of these fundie holier-than-thou hypocrites is faking it. They don't have a clue what "born again" means, but they claim it happened so they can be one of the gang. Their so-called "unquestioning faith" and slavish belief in the whole Noah myth etc. is bogus and they know it, because they know - every last one of them - that they are lying to the world about being "born again" and clearly thinking they are getting away with it, so they obviously don't buy the omnipotent-god thing either, or they'd fear going straight to hell for lying about such a critical fact. They don't believe that god is paying any attention to their lies, because they don't truly buy any of this mystical crap.
