Romney is now the chosen one.
Based on where he gave his speech and who introduced him, he now has the blessing of the Bush's and the republican party in my opinion. I know he still needs to win the primary but I believe they think he can win. As I have said long ago if Romney wins, he will choose Jeb Bush as his running mate. Another reason why he spoke where he did.

3. You could be right. Faux News, Limpballs on board - Rudy nowhere to be seen.
I think Rudy was clearly the Chosen One, but the way the right wing monosyllabic media is fawning over Mitt (check their websites - sure indication), they may have decided Rudy has too much baggage, no matter how much the neocons love him.

The Bushes make sure they are protected and taken care of. Mitt may have made a deal with the devils that includes Jeb, but whether Jeb is in or out, nobody gets the GOP nod without the blessing of Bush/Rove/Cheney.

5. Romney is the chosen one, but no way
will Jeb be on the ticket. My prediction is Romney the Mittman will choose Huckabee for his running mate. He'll need a southerner to balance the ticket, and who better than the wunderboy Huckabee.

7. That's a pretty solid prediction.
I'm still not sure Huck won't pull an upset in February. I see him winning Iowa and Mitt winning New Hampshire. The two will shoot it out in South Carolina, after which everyone else will drop from the race. The second McCain is out of it, I'll breathe a sigh of relief. He's the only one to really worry about, altho Huckabee may still surprise us.

6. I had read that previously
That the Bush's were behind Romney. I'd never thought of Jeb for VP. That's a scary thought.

11. I think it was the éminence grise who annointed him - Dimson's Daddy
According to the American Heritage Dictionary: éminence grise

"A powerful adviser or decision-maker who operates secretly or unofficially. Also called gray eminence.

The power behind the throne."

13. Bush family hedges its bets for 2008

Bush family hedges its bets for 2008
By Alexander Bolton
March 26, 2007

Much of Jeb’s inner circle has picked Romney. The list includes Sally Bradshaw, who served as Gov. Bush’s campaign manager in 1994 and 1998 and as his first gubernatorial chief of staff; Ann Herberger, who was the governor’s campaign finance director; and Mandy Fletcher, who recently headed Bush’s think tank, Foundation for Florida’s Future, and worked on his reelection. In addition, Alan Philp, Bush’s former policy director, is coordinating policy and issues for Romney.

Jeb Bush’s former lieutenant governor Toni Jennings, Al Cardenas, who served as Florida GOP chairman under Jeb, David Griffin, who headed Jeb’s second -term transition office and was the Florida Lottery Secretary, Sherri McVay, executive director of Jeb’s statewide advocacy council, and Kristy Campbell, the former governor’s press secretary, are all playing roles in Romney’s campaign.
