Bush Writes Leaders in NK Nuclear Talks

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush directly told North Korean leader Kim Jong Il in a letter that the United States expects the secretive regime to keep its promise to fully disclose all nuclear programs, the White House said Thursday.

It was Bush's most personal intervention with Pyongyang since he called the country part of an ''axis of evil.''

The letter underscored Bush's desire to resolve the nuclear standoff with the communist regime, and made plain that the North cannot skirt requirements to fully explain the extent, use and possible spread of nuclear material and technology, a U.S. official told The Associated Press.

1. Odd the one country WITH WMD's, and we play nice with them
But there is NO CONNECTION between the War on Terror and oil. None. Stop saying that!

2. Funny. I actually thought this letter escalates it. They do not have oil
but they may help with the elections if they replace Iran as a cause for fear and need to elect strong GOP men.

8. Sounds kind of like the same ol' same ol' to me
I don't think North Korea helps as an election issue - "Islamofascists" are much hotter this season.

3. N. Korea built between 1 - 100 nuclear missles capable of reaching our west coast. While Bush was
rabbidly foaming at the mouth about Iraq WMD's. We're hobbled by a President that cries wolf for fun and profit.

5. Didn't the news cite recent diplomatic advances regarding North Korea and their nuclear program?
If so, then that kind of takes North Korea out of our crosshairs as well, doesn't it? Besides, Bush et. al have always (curiously) advocated diplomacy with North Korea and never attempted to whip up the same kind of frenzy and panic about North Korea despite their considerably more advanced nuclear program. I mean, they are supposed to actually HAVE nuclear weapons now and they certainly were never quiet about it! It would seem that the only countries that Bush has invaded or threatened to invade to date never actually had a nuclear weapons program (Iraq) or previously abandoned it (Iran).

7. And he wrote the letter in his BEST red crayon, so you would know
that he was both serious and angry.

Seriously, I wonder what the over/under on spelling and grammar errors is on that letter.
