The eyes of a madman
The eyes of a madman

By DOUG THOMPSON
December 5, 2007

Hunters know all too well the look that spilled out of our television sets like political diarrhea Tuesday: The look of a cornered animal, the most dangerous time to face a desperate predator.
You saw it in the eyes of George W. Bush, America's too-often discredited President, caught in yet another lie.
Faced with a damning National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) that destroyed his outlandish claims of a threat of World War III from Iran, Bush did what he always does - dug in and faced down his pursuers with bluster, anger and defiance.

But I watched his eyes as they darted back and forth during his press conference at the White House. As a hunter, I've seen that look before - at the moment I've faced a hunted animal and must make the decision to kill or be killed.
The George W. Bush that faced reporters and the television cameras Tuesday was a cornered, dangerous predator, determined to fight back until the bitter end even as time, and escape routes, run out.

Time may be running out for Bush's Presidency but America's most discredited and distrusted leader still has more than a year left in office and that is too much time given his long, sordid record of high crimes against the Constitution, the American people, and the world. ..... Bush is, I believe, a war criminal, a leader who invaded a nation that posed no immediate threat to the United States and lied to Congress, the American people and the world community to justify his illegal and immoral actions.

War criminals are, first and foremost, mass murderers and Bush's reprehensible actions have resulted in the deaths of not only close to 3,900 American men and women in uniform but also in thousands upon thousands of Iraqi and Afghan civilians.
His actions have killed more Americans than Osama bin Laden, damaged our relations with allies and destroyed our credibility at home and abroad.
He wants, more than anything, to invade Iran before his term is up. Even now, with his ludicrous claims of a nuclear threat from that nation destroyed by his own intelligence community, he sticks to his saber-rattling rhetoric.

Watch replays of his press conference from Tuesday.

Watch his face, his actions and his body language.

Most of all look at his eyes.

They are the eyes of a cornered dangerous animal.

They are the eyes of a madman.

If we, The People of the United States, do not remove this pathologically insane man and his vice president from power immediately, our country will suffer incalculable damage over the next 12 months.

46. No doubt. Considering the Iraq Invasion never had to be.
Innocent Iraquis killed directly by US forces, whatever percentage of the 1.2 million or so, minus those Saddam would have had murdered, and whatever number that would have been it would have been WAAAAAAAYYYYY lower than 1.2 million, equals number of deaths Bushie shas on his bloody hands.

Some might say that ALL 1.2 million Iraqi dead should lie at Bushler's fet, and they may be right, too.

Now, these aren't Pol Pot numbers yet, 1.2 million dead, but Bushler and his Family aren't done by a long sight yet.

And Ted Bundy is indeed a petty and insignifcant minor-leaguer compared to the murders on Bushler's hands.

And he repeated it more than once. I truly believe he spoke the truth then, astonishingly.

7. It is obvious that this man is a sociopath.
Glibness and Superficial Charm

Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

24. Since when does the chimperor have ANYTHING in common with
A cornered animal with a hunter's gun pointed at him? The animal wasn't doing anything wrong. It was simply going about its business in its own ever-encroached-upon environment when some macho-ass hunter invades its space and tries to kill it. It is an innocent victim but of course it has a self-preservation instinct. I mean, what does the hunter think the animal is going to do, fall to the ground, lie on its back, bare its chest and say SHOOT ME?

Bush is not an animal whose environment has been invaded by humans. It's entirely the other way around. He's the invader. Just because he has darting eyes when cornered doesn't make him the equivalent of a wild animal. That's an insult to all animals and way too flattering to the murderous hunter.

25. Your ideas reflect my own.
Most hunters aren't in a situation where they're pointing a gun at an animal and it's a "kill or be killed" situation. If the animal had a choice, it would most likely choose to scram and be left alone. Most hunters are in more danger from liver failure due to alcohol intoxication than from being injured or attacked by the innocent animal they're hunting. The one with the gun has the distinct advantage, and the one without the gun doesn't have the option of not participating in this "sport".

Bush is definitely the one with the gun, though maybe his weapon isn't completely loaded.

"As a hunter, I've seen that look before - at the moment I've faced a hunted animal and must make the decision to kill or be killed."

Yeah, that deer or bear or squirrel or elephant or hippo, whatever he goes out and kills, is doing that. What a delusional ass.

But still, the rest is a good read.

38. Doug Thompson, the author, has been on a tear about it for years. From 2005:
This piece was aimed at right wingers who flooded him over the years with verbal attacks for *denigrating* their golden boy idol.

This could just as easily be written for many in Congress right now.
(caution: language)

Bush is Not an American

By DOUG THOMPSON
July 26, 2005

.....

This is no longer an issue of differing political opinions or philosophies. This is war, a fight for survival of a once-great nation called America and war calls for street rules.

In other words: No rules.

Bush, in my opinion, is criminally insane, a pill-popping dry drunk whose erratic behavior and reckless actions threaten world peace and the future of this nation far more than any Islam-spouting religious fanatic. He is an enemy of the state, a mood-swinging despot who threatens the very freedoms that form the foundation for this country. He has created a police state where basic American freedoms have vanished under an politically-exaggerated threat to national scrutiny, milked the human tragedy of 9/11 for his personal agenda and ripped the Constitution to shreds through the USA Patriot Act, a rights-robbing piece of legislation put together by his former attorney general, the bible-thumping John Ashcroft, an inept former Senator who couldn’t even win an election against a dead man.

George W. Bush is also not an American. He and his daddy sold their souls and their loyalty long ago to Saudi oil interests, particularly the bin Laden family (yes, the same bin Ladens whose relative masterminded the 9/11 attacks). The bin Ladens, laundering money through Dubya’s old Texas Air Guard buddy James Bath (the North American representative for the bin Laden family bank), bailed out Bush on his failed business adventures and then bankrolled his first run for Texas governor.

According to Craig Unger, author of House of Bush, House of Saud, the Bush family has, over the years, received some $480 million from the Saudi business interests, including the bin Laden family. Bush is a politician and politicians are, by rote, for sale to the highest bidder so you tell us: Has anyone outbid the Saudis and the bin Ladens for Bush’s loyalty?
Having a President on the payroll of the family of the man who killed 3,000 plus Americans on September 11, 2001, raises a very real concern that Bush’s illegal and immoral actions are a lot more than just politics as usual. It may explain the decision to all-but-abandon the search for bin Laden in Afghanistan and move American military resources to the ill-conceived invasion of Iraq. It took less than a year to capture Saddam Hussein yet bin Laden is still at large nearly four years after the September 11 attacks.

All this suggests to me that the President of the United States owes a lot more to his Saudi money boys than he does to the country he has sworn to serve. It tells me the President of the United States is a traitor.
Traitors should not be President. They should be arrested, tried and, upon conviction, punished for their crimes against their country.
And, as far as I’m concerned, anyone who continues to support this traitor to America is equally guilty of treason.

Don’t like those characterizations? Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn if it pisses you off because I do give a damn about my country. It's just too fucking bad that you don't.

We here at DU have known. And it has been a painful and morbid journey into the abyss. We have yet to hit bottom.
