Poll question: Proposed: Nancy Pelosi Should Be Removed From The Position Of Speaker
Nancy Pelosi has not performed her duty to defend the Constitution as regards impeachment and consequently she should be removed from the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

1. I am going to ask candidates ...
... who they will support for leadership positions after the election and that will sway my vote.

3. LOL. I wouldn't care what the candidates thought, even mine.
That is a decision that should rest with the American people through our representatives in Congress.

4. Yes, I'm sure...
...removing Pelosi will magically conjure up an extra hundred fucking votes for impeachment.

5. A new Speaker could have the fortitude to frame and present
the NEED for Impeachment to the American People, and their Congress. Most of the Democrats voted with her. They will follow the leader. It really is no longer a political issue, IMO. After the beans were split on Iran's Nukes, it is clearer than ever that the war criminals MUST be stopped.

They are hell bent on distorting facts and lying to us to have another confrontation, and a new war. Pelosi should be knocking blue dog heads together and building a public case for Impeachment. She even said herself that were she not Speaker of the House, she would favor Impeachment. Were she not the single person who holds the cards, she'd be for it.

Something is very wrong with that. I used to want Impeachment for the past crimes, now I want it to prevent more abuses of power, and to prevent WWIII.

8. There weren't enough votes to impeach Nixon until the hearings were
held and the ugly truth was spread out before the public. And Nixon's transgressions were minor compared to Bush and Cheney's corruption and treason.

Hold the hearings and the votes will come.

13. That I agree with
With the mood in the country today, when the investigations prove that Bush/Cheney intended for so much of this to happen in order to steal the treasury, the votes will be there. It would be guaranteed political suicide to support the administration after that.

15. Exactly. How could a repuke, or anyone,
stand and say,"While it is true that we've been lied to, and War Crimes have been committed, and War Profiteering has been plundering our treasury at the expense of our middle-class, and another war is being pushed.......I support the president."

They never have to face that as long as Pelosi and the others don't force them to. I she really wants to win a strong majority, she should see to it that dickie is Impeached.

They are getting ready to roll over on more war funding, she can save face with Impeachment. No to mention saving us from WW III.

14. If she is removed, we get Steny Hoyer who is next in line. A bluest of the Blue Dogs
In fact Steney Hoyer is the main reason Pelosi cannot get a thing done. Steny and his BlueDog friends secretly caucus with GOPers.

18. Big questions...Who would replace her and just what would they
do?

The House under Pelosi has had some victories. It is not necessary that impeachment of bush/cheney be the only criteria.

FWIW....once again, impeaching bush is relatively easy, it takes only a majority vote in the House. However, it would take 2/3 of the Senate to convict, and that just simply isn't going to happen, so the entire situation is essentially a farce. It may make us feel good, but there is NO point to going through w/impeachment proceedings if you can't get a conviction. It is, an exercise in futility. The R's learned this when they impeached Clinton, and it cost them dearly in their "leadership". If we can learn something from history, I should think this item would stand out like 20 sore thumbs.
