Police Find No Evidence of Pepper Spray in Alleged Sabotage of Miss Puerto Rico Universe's Clothing

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico � Investigators poured a little salt on the wounds Miss Puerto Rico Universe claims she suffered at the hands of an alleged pepper-spray attacker.

Police probing the alleged sabotage of Miss Puerto Rico Universe Ingrid Marie Rivera's clothing during the Nov. 23 competition said tests showed no traces of capsicum, the pepper spray's active ingredient, Reuters reported.

The 24-year-old Rivera said she broke out in hives and swelling during the pageant and was forced to ice down her face and body between events.

"I guess she has a lot of explaining to do," police spokesman Stephen Alvarez said on Saturday.

1. The story never made any sense

If her makeup and clothing were covered in pepper spray, she'd have known immediately. What did she do, put makeup on her entire face first, then put on the clothes while her face was burning? Or did she get dressed with pepper-sprayed clothes then apply the makeup while her body was burning? It was a ridiculous story that never should have been taken seriously in the first place.

5. Actually I think she was just using it as self promotion

I mean how many Miss _____ (anythings) come to mind in recent years? She is clearly just trying to get her name and face out for producers and directors and what have you to see.

Clearly if pepper spray was around everyone would have known it.
