Craig: I’m still not gay. After the Idaho Stateman reported five separate new accounts of gay men claiming to have encounters with Larry Craig (in addition to three earlier reports), the Idaho senator has responded by sticking with his claim that he’s never been gay. A statement from Craig:

It is unfortunate that the Idaho Statesman has chosen to continue to lower itself to the standards of what can best be described as tabloid journalism. Like its previous coverage, these latest allegations are completely false and have no basis in reality.

In fact, the paper itself states that these baseless accusations contain no definitive evidence yet they still decided to print them anyway. However, despite the fact the Idaho Statesman has decided to pursue its own agenda and print these falsehoods without any facts to back them up, I won’t let this paper’s attempt to malign my name stop me from continuing my work to serve the people of Idaho.

To religious nutters and secular conservatives, being gay means being self-accepting. It means taking pride in who and what you are. It means being open and honest with yourself and with others. It means living ones own life and letting others live their own lives.

In short, being gay means being everything that religious nutters and secular conservatives are incapable of being. In this sense, Larry Craig is not gay, despite his obvious fondness of man-to-man sex.

I don't think that means what you think it means, Mr. Craig. The folks in the Statesman story were named sources, who recited times, dates and places of their sexual encounters with you. See, tabloids use a lot of unsourced rumors and vague allegations to draw dubious conclusions. This looks pretty goddam solid, Mr. Craig. And instead of whining about "baseless accusations," your denials would be a LOT more credible if you actually addressed the substance of what has been said.

But then, I suppose we know all we need to know about you if you think that the simple fact of being a homosexual would be sufficient to "malign" your name.

15. CBS local affiliate this morning was saying the Idaho Stateman should not have

published it because there were no physical evidence. It is only a "he said" "they said" and they could have found Craig's itinerary by chance. :eyes:

If this is not true, he has solid enemies that have a lot of time to lose, given that he will not run next year.

Did they want a blue dress? The Statesman has been working (and in some cases sitting) on this story for a long time. Yes, it's a "he said, he said" game, but, unfortunately, it's Craig's words that warrant the publications. It was not just Craig's arrest, but his initial guilty plea that opened the door to scrutiny and his denials only encourage further invetigation. His denials also lacked "physical evidence" and does he have the credibility to dismiss all these accusations with the voters in Idaho?

Surely many would both wish this scandal never happened and that it would go away...however, as long as Craig remains in the Senate and in the public eye, he's fair game. If he wants this scandal to go away, he could resign...the hypocrisy meter runs into the red every time this assclown opens his piehole.

if it's publishing false information. Answer: he knows that would bring all the FACTS out into the open and totally destroy him. By simply whining and complaining he can pretend to be somebody other than who he is, and maybe keep some semblance of his heterosexual facade.
