Transcript From Bush/Gore 2000 Debates
Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 04:21 AM by K8-EEE
Honestly I think the Dems should just run pieces of these debates as commercials for the next election. You can see in retrospect what a huge mistake it was to vote GOP!!!

Get this "answer" from GWB re: energy policy:

BUSH: It's an issue I know a lot about. I was a small oil person for a while in west Texas. This is an administration that's had no plan. And all of a sudden the results of having no plan have caught up with America. First and foremost we have to fully fund -- heat which is a way to help low income people in the east to pay for high fuel bills. We need an active exploration incentive in America. We need to explore at home. You bet I want to open up a small part of Alaska. When that field is online it will produce one million barrels a day. Today we import one million barrels from Saddam Hussein. I would rather that a million come from our own hemisphere, have it come from our own country as opposed to Saddam Hussein. I want to develop the coal resources in America. Have clean coal technologies. We better start exploring it or otherwise we'll be in deep trouble in the future because of our dependency upon foreign sources of crude.

1. "Clean coal" and Alaska
Fascinating. They still want ANWR and now there's a Clean Coal coalition.

The coal/oil guys were waiting in the wings for BushCo to screw up things internationally and devalue the dollar so they could sweep in and clean up. And hey look, they're doing just that.

2. Like any of that oil from Alaska would reach the U.S.
it would be on tankers bound for Asia.

Yeah, Bush's "energy policy" has been a tremendous success. :sarcasm: Just like his foreign and domestic policies. I can't remember when an administration has been so successful. :sarcasm:

414 more days. 414 more days until our greatest national embarrassment is over.

4. AND...we don't have the "crisis" of $1.19 gas any more!
Cuz that's what * called it then...."a crisis!" LOL, I'd like that crisis back please....

In these debates he also mocks out the entire concept of hybrid cars, tax credits for them, and acts like that's not what's in Murka's lifestyle or whatever....a million Priuses later, not to mention the layoffs in Detroit....

Really the 2000 debates are VERY telling.
