Huckabee: God's Vote Only One That Matters To Me
It turns out there's only endorsement Mike Huckabee is really after. And it's not a a certain senator, or a Republican activist group, or even Chuck Norris himself — it's God, and that's what determines his public policy agenda.

The American Prospect reports that Huckabee appeared this week on the televangelism show Believers' Voice of Victory, and he declared proudly, "I had to come to the conclusion that I only had one client ... when I laid my head on the pillow, I'd say, 'Lord, are you pleased?' ... even if I get voted out of office, I'll never get voted out of heaven."

If this seems familiar, that's because it is — President Bush himself once told Bob Woodward the following about whether he consulted his father for advice: "You know he is the wrong father to appeal to in terms of strength. There is a higher father that I appeal to."

What if God's vote is for allowing homosexuals to marry?
Would President Huckabee veto it?

8. It *is* God's vote to allow gays to get married!
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 04:51 PM by IanDB1
On the day Louisiana was supposed to vote to ban Marriage Equality, God sent a hurricane and put all the polling places under water (this was BEFORE Katrina).

When Massachusetts legalized Marriage Equality, God gave us our first World Series win since 1918n (the year we banned inter-racial marriage) and a Superbowl win.

The Gay Marriage Team beat The Fundie Team. Suck it, Jesus!

10. if i were to believe in god
i'd say those are valid proofs of his support of homosexual unions. that and a quote from the book of james which says "if you discriminate, does not that show you are guided by the wrong motives?"

however, god doesn't exist, and his vote doesn't count, and gays should be allowed to marry even if some stupid higher power disapproved.

12. If God doesn't exist, then how do you explain The Babel Fish?
Oh, wait.

That's fictional.

2. I see a difference
Huckabee wants to serve God (as he perceives God). This is a posture of humility. Bush thinks he appointed by God. If you didn't realize how much the gods hate hubris, you should now.

14. Huckabee is a dangerous nutcase wrapped in a smiley face.
Is there any doubt that if by some perverse miracle he becomes president he will consider himself "anointed by God," and not responsible to the voters or the Constitution?

15. Yes, Mr. Huckabee
God talks directly to you. In fact, I find it fascinating that all these people with a direct line to the lord never seem to have a tape recoding of his awesome words.

17. Just wait until the base checks his immigration policy.
Little Rock—Governor Huckabee has criticized immigration legislation in the Arkansas Legislature, describing the bill as “inflammatory … race-baiting and demagoguery,” and challenges the Christian values of its main sponsor.

The bill seeks to forbid public assistance and voting rights to illegal immigrants. Huckabee says it “enflames those who are racist and bigots and makes them think there’s a real problem” when there is not. The bill was filed by Republican Senators Jim Holt of Springdale and Denny Altes of Fort Smith, whose northwest Arkansas region includes the state’s fastest growing Hispanic population.

Huckabee, also a Republican and a Baptist minister, said Arkansans should welcome hardworking immigrants of all races. He singled out Holt, who often talks of his strong Christian beliefs. The governor said “I drink a different kind of Jesus juice. My faith says don’t make false accusations against somebody. In the Bible, it’s called don’t bear false witness.”

Funny how God never comes back with "No, you stupid cluck, I'm *not* happy!"

They must be talking to the other guy.

28. King James of the KJ Bible was gay
and was affectionately known as "Queen James" by his friends.

I guess anti-gay Christians must not use the King James version, since it contains no anti-gay sentiments from God.
