2. screw the Gap
and the AFA

if they're more worried about Gap girls not saying Merry Christmas rather than the Gap using child labor, then they have some screwed up priorities

8. I took quick action...
And took their advice and sent a letter through their system... but I did a little editing!

Dear Chairman Murphy:

I am very happy that Gap refuses to use Christmas in your stores and promotions. Too many people forget that Christmas is not a Christian holy day and a certainly not a secular holiday. The holidays are a time for everyone to celebrate, be they Jewish, Christian or those celebrating the ORIGINAL holiday celebrated at this time, Saturnalia

Your actions make me proud about shopping in Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic stores. I will also alert my family and friends about your practice. There are many other stores that wish to limit their clients and force one particular belief on them. I'm sure they will not miss my business.

12. Don't fall for it
Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy are all operated by a big time repug named Fisher.

This is yet another part of the divide & conquer strategy, with the cherry on top of "attacking" a repig friend to increase his business. Ignore this shit and focus on what matters.

20. If you showed that to the AFA,
they'd conclude that women are to blame for the "war on Christmas".
If women never read anything except the Bible, there would be no problems.

18. Focus on the Family has been complaining about this, too
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 01:00 PM by Rob H.
James Dobson and company were blathering on earlier this week about how even though he and his minions complained about it last year, a lot of retailers are still saying "Happy holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas." There are more religious and cultural celebrations at year's end than Christmas, but apparently Christmas is the only one they think should be showcased.

A lot of the stores they mentioned are places where I already shop and thanks to them complaining about those stores and others I hadn't heard of, I've added new ones to my list to give my money to. Take that, fundagelical windbags! Ha!

edit: punctuation. Oops!
