Anyone see Karl Rove on KO just now? He actually claimed that Bush
was opposed to the Senate voting for the Iraqi war resolution in 2002. Karl is full of turd blossom.

That was after Jeffords had started caucusing with the Democrats.

5. His insanity will become more obvious, now that he is out in the open.
This is his reason for being: bugged his own office and called in the press to blame the Dem opponent. Do irreparable harm to the country, then call in the press and blame the other branch of government. Same story, same verse. What is it called when one repeats mistakes over and over and over and over...

11. Socio or Psycho could be he has both pathologies - like the rest of the gang
It's the only explanation other than a group "alien body snatching" conspiracy meant to cause the FALL OF ALL HUMANITY - since that seems "unlikely", I say the group Psycho/ sociopath theory still stands.

But I keep my mind open to any new ideas and evidence.

10. Rove was on Charlie Rose the other day.
Rove was going on about how terrible it was that the IWR was voted on just a week before the mid-term elections. Rose was very good about letting him continue down this path of argument. Rove eventually said that the Whitehouse didn't want to have the vote right before the elections, because they thought it would make the issue too political!

Anyhow, KO even had Arianna Huffington on to help him call Rove a big fat liar. They went to Whitehouse.gov and got quotes and press releases and such.

As the prophet George Orwell once warned us, he who controls the past controls the future. Rove has a new book that he thinks will rewrite history.

Don't you just love the way these talking heads slip and slide and slither their way through the terminologies they use to deceive? "Trajectories (of figures of deaths??)" Jesus.. Unbelievable.. Makes me want to weep. How anybody can allow such a slime ball to dribble all over the truth like this is just beyond me.. To give this reincarnated Goebbels such an unchallenged platform is a complete cop out. "The Press has done a good job...??..##%" JESUS H Christ. You are a disgrace Rose.

Comment by Michael on Tuesday, Nov 27 at 07:06 PM

Mr. Rose, I have been a fan of Frontline and your show for years. I still like Frontline but can no longer count myself a fan of the Cahrlie Rose Show. I am deeply dissappointed that you allowed Karl Rove to spew lies on your media platform. You failed to challenge classic Rove propaganda. Next time I see you at the 21 Club you can be sure I will challenge you. I won't be writing another check to PBS until I see there is a correction or an apology to the faithful viewers of your show.

Comment by dras on Tuesday, Nov 27 at 02:49 PM

I to read all the comments also and saw how quite a few of them just happened to show the writers ability to cut and paste. I've watched Rose for way to many years to admit and I'm ready to tell him and PBS, which happens to be my favorite charity, that they are damn close to losing a 25 year plus supporter of PBS. I felt like I not only had my pocket picked by PBS I was also stab in the back by Charlie Rose.

more, lots more...

19. Oh sure, it was infuriating to watch that show.
I was even yelling at the teevee a little, as Rose did a pretty good impersonation of Timmy Russert's non-confrontational interview style. I have thought for a long time that Rose is sort of mentally challenged anyhow, so I never expect a whole lot of intellectual horsepower from the guy.

I really don't know if knows that Rove was lying to his face or not. Not the sharpest tool, if you know what I mean, about as sharp as a marble... he really got some of fan's undies in a wad though, that's seems to be for sure, and well deserved.

I was truly glad to see that someone like KO picked up on this story. :)

23. It was right before the midterm, after they had abandoned "power sharing."
The 2000 elections left a 50-50 split in the Senate, with Cheney being the tie-breaker. Daschle and Lott settled on a power-sharing arangement, with Lott being the majority leader in name only. In mid 2001, Jim Jeffords, a Republican from Vermont, left the Republican Party to be an independent and vote to organize with the Dems.

Daschle was the Majority leader, and the Dems did control the Senate.

The House was under solid Republican control.

The Senate arguably could have been lost to a fillibuster-proof majority of Republicans over this IWR vote. There were a whole lot of Dems up for reelection. Enough to put the entire country in even greater peril if the Republicans picked up all those seats.

And that scenario was a real possibility, one that Rove himself was using as a threat. Rove would have liked nothing better than to see the Dems try to delay the vote on the IWR. That close to the election, it could have been completely devastating.

He says he'll be describing how the Congress forced the Administration to go to war "too early." I thought Bush was the "decider" who had absolute power when it came to police actions, etc.? 31. Reality? What's That?
It's like the news stories claiming that Gore took the election to the Supremes when it was the Republicans. Whatever they want to say...the press doesn't bother to call them on it, doesn't fact-check, doesn't, in fact, do their damn jobs. Where are the good journalists who care about making the story accurate?

37. IIRC, the wingnuts (and Jr, apparently) felt a new vote wasn't
needed - that they could just use the umbrella of the early 1990s vote to attack Iraq that set off Poppies Gulf War.

In that sense I could see Jr being "against the senate voting" - not against them voting to support his war dreams, but that he felt that they should just butt out and he should be allowed to go to war without a vote at all.

Of course that logic didn't hold water - and they had to do the hard sell (full of "intelligence" lies of imminent threats and all) to the Senate.
