SAVAGE DROPPED BY AT&T + WAL-MART!
http://www.cair.com/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=23845

The newly-formed Hate Hurts America Community and Interfaith Coalition (HHA) today announced that Wal-Mart and AT&T have joined a growing list of advertisers that have stopped advertising or refuse to place their ads on Michael Savage's “Savage Nation” program.

HHA, a group of religious and civic organizations seeking to challenge hate speech on talk radio, was formed as a result of Savage’s recent rhetorical attacks on Muslims, Islam and the Quran, Islam’s revealed text.

A HHA statement released today said in part: “We have a duty to make sure every person in America is treated with respect and human dignity. Diversity is what makes this nation so special. The many companies that do not want to be affiliated with Michael Savage's bigotry and have stopped advertising or refuse to advertise on his show include AutoZone, Citrix, TrustedID, JCPenney, and OfficeMax. Today, we are pleased to announce that Wal-Mart and AT&T have joined the growing list of companies that refuse to sponsor Savage's hate speech.”

19. We did that at Take Back The Media for quite a while
Killed off advertising from Amtrak, Radio Shack, Red Lobster/Olive Garden, Boze and several others... Symbolman even went on TV a couple times (O'Reilly and Scarborough) because of the boycott.

5. Yeah, Creative Artists Agency.
After that, he said that "if I ever ran for public office, I would have you jailed within six months for sedition".
He said that one month after announcing his bid for the 2008 election.

Just haven't found much time to post here lately.
And when I heard about these two cesspool companies struggling out of the tidal wave known as Savage - I just HAD to post it here.

27. Wal-Mart seems to have gotten better in recent years
They even earned praise from Al Gore and other environmental groups for the steps they're taking to reduce their footprint on the environment.

Of course, every time you see progress from them, you turn around and there are 10 or more more new negative things that come up - suing an employee over medical benefits, etc - and they still have a long long way to go.

36. They announced this week they are not going to build a stupid center in our city
after years of fighting them and with a city council poised to give them everything they wanted. The people put a lot of heat on the mayor and the council to make sure Wally World paid for the infrastructure to build on the outskirts of town. Wal-Mart decided that along with losing money right now and rethinking their plans for building Stupid Centers anyway, that the restrictions were just "unusual". They announced after the planning commission meeting on Monday to stop the bid to build.

We are overjoyed.

We still won't shop there.

gave it away when he said the decline in their profits was do to the fact that the poor, there target shoppers, were running out of money.

13. Hate Hurts America sounds like a great organization.
From their Web site:

Hate hurts America by eroding our country's great traditions of religious and cultural tolerance and mutual respect. Hate-filled words can and do lead to violent actions. The Hate Hurts America Interfaith and Community Coalition is a coalition of religious and civic organizations that was formed to address the rising problem of hatred against American minorities. While hatemongers have a First Amendment right to spew their hate speech, Americans of all backgrounds also have a First Amendment right not to support hate speech. The best way conscientious Americans can stop supporting hate speech is to ask responsible companies to pull their advertising dollars from hatemongers. We therefore call upon companies to withdraw their advertisements from "The Savage Nation" as a concrete demonstration of support for the American traditions of religious and cultural tolerance and mutual respect.

Sounds good to me...You can join out of religious convictions, or merely because hate is against your personal philosophy...

Maybe this is the way to finally rid the airwaves of so many haters. Hit them where they live...tell their advertisers you won't buy their products.

Worth a shot, anyway.

Now HE'S getting his mouth shut down and we Love it :)

By the way, our site also went after Limbaugh then, and took away Geico, Radio Shack, See's Candies, Red Lobster and a host of others, big names.. But these guys have a coalition and that will be even more effective..

I'd like to see them get Limbaugh Off the Troop Station as well.

I don't need Corporate america or some lame religious group deciding if I can hear something or not. I'd much rather that that choice was mine and mine alone to make. I don't need an "interfaith" nanny.

35. And these companies also have choices as do buyers
I choose not to purchase or use products from companies that advertise on his show because he's a worthless piece of garbage.
I tell these companies I refuse to use or buy their products until they stop advertising on his show.
That's Democracy.

It's when the government gets involved it becomes oppressive.

If his supporters want him on the air, then they need to contact these companies and urge them to advertise or say they won't sbuy or shop.

48. Huh? This post is a good indication of how the corporations are now deciding what we watch and
listen to. No corporate sponsor, no show. So us peoples talk to the corporations and try to convince them that we don't or won't listen to what they think we should.
