I think the Nadarites are getting jealous.

1. Liberals fascinated by Paul???
Totally nuts. He is not liberal. He would privatize everything!

4. Look around. So-called liberals everywhere on DU are giving
the Mad Doctor a pass--or worse.

5. I guess it is where the liberal and libertarian part of our community
comes together and blurs the line. Ya, he would privatize everything - parks, police, fire departments, we would need a health insurance card AND a protection card AND a fire card etc..

The posts here on DU tell me many people here lean toward libertarianism.

2. The possibility of Kucinich running with Paul probably raised Paul's stakes around here

3. Lots of Ron Paul bumper stickers around here.
If my supermarket parking lot straw poll is accurate, he's a shoe-in among the retired Orange County polo shirt and chinos crowd.

6. Any liberals who are fascinated by Ron Paul
...haven't fully acquainted themselves with the Libertarian manifesto. If they have and still like Paul, they aren't liberals.

7. Ron Paul is many things. But he's certainly not dull.

His politics are mostly anathema to most of us. But he's an amusing note to this crazy period in history.

8. He right on the Iraq war & a couple of other issues, but is an all around bad prospective president
Fine, he's right on the war and the Patriot Act and the War on Drugs. I'll give him his due credit for that.

But his stances on other issues are repugnant, and in some cases worse than Bush. If Ron Paul was president, he would take us back to an 1890's Gilded Age of laissez-faire and no social welfare safety. It would be a "fend for yourself" America, and a lot of people would fall through.

He is also supported by Stormfront and the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan.

9. I am very impressed with his campaign
They are everywhere. And they are giving him LOTS of money. They are also maintaining a high profile. Here in my city, they are buying billboards and planes to do flyovers at large events.

While I could never support him, I do think we can learn from his campaign. I do respect what they are doing.
