TGIF, Truthseekers!

Mike returns LIVE tonight, out of his turkey-induced tryptophan coma, ready to wrap up this holiday week and ask the burning question . . . where are the media on the Scott McClellan book bombshell??

Simple Scottie's new book "What Happened" is due out in April. In this butt-saving excerpt, McClellan asserts: "I stood at the White House briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby," McClellan wrote. "There was one problem. It was not true. I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice president, the president's chief of staff {Andy Card} and the president himself." Tell me again how the Bushies are making America safe? By revealing - out of revenge - the identities of covert CIA agents working in the field? That protects America . . . . how?

Why the sudden attack of conscience from the spokesman who regularly called on full-time fake reporter and part-time male prostitute Jeff "me-love-you-long-time" Gannon/Guckert to lob him softballs when the klieg lights got too hot in the ol' briefing room.

And as importantly, where is the mainstream press on this incredible, impeachable, new set of accusations? Are they really that busy covering the Thanksgiving parade and endless football games and 10 pound human hairballs to devote a few seconds to perhaps the most explosive scandal in Washington DC since Watergate?

An article in Wednesday's edition of afterdowningdstreet.org put it this way: " . . . where the hell is the NY Times on this story? Nowhere. Incredibly, not one solitary word in Wednesday's newspaper. This is a huge bombshell with monumental ramifications--criminal behavior on the part of Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby, Card-- which could and should finally take down this corrupt, disgraceful administration. Could be the biggest political scandal since Watergate. And how is it covered by the Times? It's not."

The press virtually ignored books by former Secretary of State Colin Powell and former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil, which separately detailed the intent of the Bush Crime Family to illegally invade Iraq - fake yellowcake, phony WMD's or not - and the spurious evidence they trumped up to convince Congress and the public that there was some kind of legitimate threat there other than billions in oil reserves not currently under US control.

So if they ignore Iraq-gate, why should Plame-gate warrant any attention? It's simply more of the ongoing destruction of our Constitutional Republic and its system of checks and balances. Nothing as important as, say, whether Brittney got a supervised visit with her boys over the holiday. Or who won Dancing with the Stars.

McClellan said he was instructed by the president and vice president to stand before the media and voters and lie about the deliberate outing of a covert CIA agent's identity. That's beyond impeachable, that's a federal crime. Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby, and Card should be in prison, as any other citizen would be were they to violate national secrets.

Ho-hum. Isn't there a game on? Didn't some cop kill his wife? When does American Idol start back? Is there any cranberry sauce left in the fridge? Then there's that big sale at Macys . . . .

57. H/she was here twice today!

I think I'm gonna call the vet in the morning and find out if there's something available to worm him/her in food as there is no way that I can get near him yet. H/She isn't putting on any weight that we can tell, so I'll have to start somewhere. Mine were wormed at the vet's office with some sort of liquid they were forced to swallow so I'll have to find out what's available.

My first foundling was in an airport parking lot. Tiny, starving kitty - I drove home with her digging all four sets of claws into my scalp . She was perched on the driver's headrest and clinging to my head for dear life.

Anyway, this was nearly 30 years ago, and she turned out to have hookworms. Bad. She lived to be 20. Her name was Maude.:hug:

85. Not yet, if h/she sees us walking around in the house h/she

takes off like a shot, and I don't want to traumatize him/her just yet. I'm trying to do the least traumatic thing I can right now. I'm hoping that h/she will become a little more trusting over time, but if push comes to shove I'll risk the trauma to try to catch him/her, but there's no way I'm gonna get him/her out of a cage at the vet's office, lol!

I've had too many cats who were purring, loving critters at home who turned into cats from hell at the vet's office...no way I'm gonna tangle with one that doesn't trust or like humans. Only if the cage has a tranquiler dart, lol!

92. Oh my I know about those Vet's office experiences.

I once had a kittie whose name was officially Nefertiti (the nurse at the Vet said, "What a big name for such a little kittie") but we all called her Titi. She was at the Vet to be "fixed". She had to stay overnight after the operation. When I got there the next day as soon as I walked in the door the nurse called out,"He's here!" Uh-oh...on my sweet little Titi's cage was a big red sign...CAUTION WILD ANIMAL.:rofl:

Mr. lefty didn't have any experience with felines until me, and he had to take the first cat he'd ever lived with to the vet and I warned him that she would turn inside out in her own skin and would claw him or anyone else within distance. He didn't believe me as he stated, "she was wild, but she loves us and there's no way that she would do that." He returned clawed up, and it happened again with another of our loving cats, who had never been wild, that he had to take to the vet's office!

I'll never forget his stating, "I never realized that a vertebrate animal could turn inside-out like that! You tried to warn me, but damn!" Poor Titi labeled as a Wild Animal! :rofl:

Smart Balance fake-butter spray. My sister adds all kinds of stuff to them and they are deeeee-lish!! My contribution to tomorrow's meal will be mashed turnip which I will bring to my sister's house so she can gussie them up with whatever she adds to them to make them delightful.

We never ate beets when I grew up. My father was raised on a farm where they grew during the Depression, and he refused to eat them - or even look at them. I've still never tried them. Guess I was traumatized in my youth.

91. Yup, that's how we've always done them. When I make them for myself,

I use frozen turnip. Of course fresh are better but they're kind of hard to cut and peel. I think that's why we only ever had them on Thanksgiving and Christmas while I was growing up. I talked my sister into going with frozen for tomorrow because she always manages cut herself while working with fresh turnip. Try them if you get a chance, they are delicious!!

93. A friend of my Mom's makes them and she gets the turnips

soft, mashes them with salt, pepper, butter, chives and white cheese. Then she makes a topping of Ritz crackers, melted butter and sharp cheddar cheese and bakes it.

My Dad used to get them soft, mash them with salt, pepper, butter and a little sugar.

I don't care for turnips, but the first method I could deal with better.

I can't get warm. My house has no insulation and my heater is in the wall in the living room. It now runs every 15 minutes. I don't care. We're freezing. I hooked up LuLu and Raisin to their own radiator heater in front of the couch, plus they are sleeping on a heating pad. If it gets any colder, I'm going to make them move over!

I feel like such a wuss, our temps get to the 30's or 40's and I'm whining like a big baby. Some Truthseekers have to deal with ice, snow and freezing temps. :-)

when Nosy was maybe 2 yrs. old and we had a cocker then, too, and they did fine! When Nosy thought that he was gonna get the better of Chloe (the bunny), she would get on her haunches and 'box' him, or kick him with her back legs and he'd back off and play much nicer!

The memories make me smile, but I don't remember how I got through those years with so many animals with REALLY young kids, too, and I wouldn't drink at all when my kids were that young! :hi: :hug:
