War Supporter gets license to counter-protest
This is from my hometown, which is pretty much chock full of radical leftists and leftist Dems...

GREENFIELD -- A West Springfield man will stand Saturday mornings for the next year across the street from the Greenfield peace vigil, offering another point of view to passersby.

The Board of License Commissioners granted Richard Sorcinelli a one-year license to stand along the north side of Main Street between Federal and School streets. He is allowed to have signs, but must stay out of the path of pedestrian traffic.

Earlier this month, the man showed up across the street from the peace vigil with signs that read, ''Deluded Misguided Peace Protestors Won't Keep Us Safe'' and ''Save the World, Kill More Terrorists.''

''I think it's fair to have another side represented along Main Street,'' Sorcinelli told the three board members. ''I know I don't live here, but neither do many of the people on the other side of the street.''

And fwiw, yes, most of the peace vigil people do live there, or in the surrounding towns. I know a good number of them personally. The man in question is travelling 40 miles each way approx. to do this.

Yay for free speech, but at the same time... :eyes:

1. I say great!
If only to remind people that yes indeed, the 26%ers are nutjob troop-hating fuckholes for steadfastly believing the Failure Fuhrer's lies.

And this gets to be done for one solid year.

2. Why does he need a license to stand on a public street and protest?
That concerns me more than his message. When did anyone start needing permission to stand in public and protest? Is this America?

4. wait, this is ONE guy? thats all the other side can scrounge up these days?
and he's driving 40 miles each way? So the war idiots can't even find another guy who lives within 40 miles to protest? Actually, I'm glad he's doing it. Just makes Iraq war supporters look like the clueless asses they really are.
