Jack Cafferty just called for Bush's Impeachment On CNN
Edited on Wed Nov-21-07 06:42 PM by Pawel K
He did this while talking about the revelations from Scott Mcclellan's book. Say what you will about the guy but he has some balls. I was shocked.

Cafferty has called for Bu$h's impeachment - not Dobbs...

They do all kind of look alike.

not necessarily both calling for impeachment.

60. I wonder if DK bringing it up on the debate has sparked something?
I still don't understand why the people that support impeachment and feel its extremely important for the future of our country, would still support candidates that wont even mention the word. Its almost like they don't want to attack their buddy, its one thing to speak up and say there is no need or no evidence to support impeachment but to ignore it altogether just doesn't seem like a leader that I want running the country. Sounds more like a follower to me.

6. A previous Jack Cafferty quote
"Who cares if the Patriot Act get's renewed. Want to abuse our civil liberties - Just do it! Who cares about the Geneva conventions? Want to torture prisoners - Just do it! Who cares about rules concerning the identity of CIA gents. Want to reveal the name of a covert operative? Just do it! Who cares about whether the intelligence concerning WMD's is accurate. You want to invade Iraq? Just do it. Who cares about qualifications to serve on the nation's highest court. Want to nominate a personal friend with no qualifications? Just do it. And the latest outrage, which I read about in The New York Times this morning, who cares about needing a court order to eavesdrop on American citizens. Want to wiretap their phones conversations? Just do it. ... What a joke. A very cruel, very sad joke."

24. Sorry, but wishful thinking. Pelosi
will not impeach. Apparently there is nothing Bush has or can do that will rouse her to exercise her Constitutional imperative. I've jokingly said Bush could strangle an infant and drink it's blood on live TV and that would still not be enough for Pelosi. If we survive the Bush regime, and that's a big if, History is not going to be kind to Pelosi, and she deserves every brickbat.

15. How is what Scottie said any evidence, let alone proof, that Bush lied?
I read it as Scottie saying Bush told him to say Rove and Libby were not involved.

Period.

I have never read where he said Bush knew they were invovled.

Scottie is not a John Dean. He's been with Bush from the Texas days. He'll cover Bush's ass while attempting to cover his own.

55. You are so right.
Scottie isn't fit to shine John Dean's shoes. I saw at MSNBC.com last night where he is already
back-tracking on Bush and Cheney's involvement.

And why did it take him saying something for Cafferty to believe it? My God, we all knew they were
involved years ago. It should have been common knowledge. It's just like the war. How could it be
that all my friends and I knew there were no WMDs a year before the invasion, and yet most people
believed it? It's not like I had secret connections. I just watched and read and listened. It wasn't
a secret. I'm just beyond tolerance for these idiots!

25. We can start with this -
as others have mentioned - can you imagine this scenario?
A split TV screen of impeachment hearings on one side - and Bill campaigning with Hillary on the other. Impeachment hearings ain't gonna happen.
Kucinich knows it - and you'd think he would have attacked Obama for declaring Bush hadn't committed impeachable offenses.

Here is the full quote from the AP story:

"I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breaches, and intentional breaches of the president's authority," he said.

"I believe if we began impeachment proceedings we will be engulfed in more of the politics that has made Washington dysfunction," he added. "We would once again, rather than attending to the people's business, be engaged in a tit-for-tat, back-and-forth, non-stop circus."

It's getting to the point where there is no one that I wouldn't mind getting elected, let alone supporting. I'm not quite there yet, but nearly. I hope Iowa produces some big surprises.

Edited to add: And who does he think he is kidding? Reserved for "grave offenses"? what could be more grave than killing tens of thousands of people and obliterating our civil liberties? Oh God.

the CNN stooges were trying to say who cares about this anymore, its old news. This made Jack blow up. He said he cares and that we need to be told the truth from the white house now while there is still time to impeach, not 10 years from now in Bush's memoirs.

41. On TPM, a writer says McClellaln's publisher has already
pedaled, saying that when he aske MClellan to convey false information, Bush didn't know either that it was false. Obviously that is a lie, but it is evident that Scotty intends to exonerate Bush himself. Still, the idea that 4 of 5 high-ranking government officials mentioned lied on purpose should suffice to reopen the suspended Fitzgerald investigation, and that itself could lead to Bush. I sure hope something is done with this. After all, outing Plame ws treason, pure and simple, and Bush, Cheney, and Rove were obviously into the scheme up to their elbows and beyond!

58. That was my take on it too
He's calling "bullshit" when he sees it (and there's a lot of it), but the immigration thing, I agree, was getting a bit much. I'm not done with the book yet.

It's not that well written a book, a little self-serving, but it does compile quite a list of damnable deeds. I am ignoring the immigration stuff just because everyone has their own viewpoint/opinion, but the rest of it made quite a list.
