In a world where there are people who seek to dominate in many forms and fashions, it's heartening to know that many of us actually CARE about what is happening in our country and to the world.
It's not always easy to have a sense that our participation is a making a difference. Rest assured that it does. Politics is a very, very difficult endeavor, so much so, that many opt out completely, stop paying attention and stop giving a damn.
To those DUers who pursue the truth with dogged determination, I offer my thanks. To those who have not given up, I offer my thanks. To our moderators, who do a pretty good job, given the nature of the beast, I offer my thanks.
I hope that all of you and your families will bask in the gratitude that is Thanksgiving!

1. I literally had to make myself step back for awhile

After the 2004 election. I had to take it easy. Reading all those papers, searching out all those stories, watching stuff on tv, reading books, looking at what these effing people were doing to our country. It was too much. It was effecting my health, in all honesty. Now I have a smarter approach to it all. It's still tough, but I refuse to be uninformed and disengaged. I refuse to give up caring. So I feel you exactly on this one. Thanks for the post. Happy Thanksgiving and keep fighting.

2. Just my opinion, but it is wonderful to be around so many

like minded people who do care about what is happening to our country and other countries. We all must keep informed and we must never give up. Happy Thanksgiving DU'ers!!
