teach, I hear it all the time. So we have lower-upper-middle-class academics trying to get office hour reduction from the administration and it is "truth to power." Then we have primarily upper-upper middle class students complaining to the professors about grades and it is "truth to power."

As currently used, it demeans people who stand up when all they have going for them is the truth of their convictions and who by asserting those convictions stand to loose it all. I have been truly honored to have met some men, women and children who have been in those positions, and none of them would even think in those terms.
