Longtime Republican to Joe Biden: "I will be at your caucus.”

<snip>

Today’s campaign event for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was about women, for women.

But somehow, a man managed to steal the show. And it wasn’t the Delaware senator.

“I don’t know if you heard that rumbling earlier, but that was my father rolling around in his grave,” longtime Republican Wayne Wagemann of Des Moines said to Biden during a question-and-answer session. “But this is the first time I’ve ever been to a Democratic meeting … and you talk about a man of his word in your speeches. I will be at your caucus.”

Wagemann stood out among the female-dominated crowd of 100 that gathered at the Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center for the Women for Biden kickoff.

The event included endorsements by noted female Democrats. Talk focused on women’s issues rather than his key campaign issue: the war in Iraq.

1. I suppose there are a few repubs out there who are totally
disgusted with bush, et al. Amazing how many, particularly repub Pres. candidates, who are STILL walking in lock step with bush.

2. Biden The Most Electable
If we want to ensure a Democratic victory, we should nominate Biden. To win, we would have to get the votes of most Independent voters, who are about a third of the total electorate. They are turned off by Hillary, and Obama lacks experience. Richardson would be another good choice, and would ensure the most Hispanic votes.

4. I think he's a CERTAINTY to dominate the Presidential Debates.
And that is where I think the battle will definitely end up.

3. You know, I do like Biden. He's not my candidate but he has added a lot
to the campaign I think.
