Poll question: My Candidate Can Produce 270 Electoral Votes; Yours Can't
Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 04:37 PM by CorpGovActivist
If you vote in this poll, please list out the state(s) your choice would flip, and provide a rationale for that flip (e.g., poll data welcome).

To level the playing field, all voters in this poll are working off the same map: the 2004 Electoral College map.

Candidates are listed in the order that they appeared on stage last night, left to right.

All the states Kerry won (including N.H.), plus:

*Certainly Ohio, West Virginia, all of Minnesota, New Mexico.
*Probably Iowa, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, Tennessee, Arizona
*Maybe even Virginia, Nevada, and Arkansas.

... you see.

I have a bone or two to pick with you about your treatises, Mr. Locke. (Not the content, just how often they were required reading.)

6. I'm holding out for Gore (who could sweep the electoral map) but
I voted for Dodd because no one else had and I rather like the guy. Dodd could probably win the general but he is not going to get the nomination.

Nearest to repeating George Washington's feat ever. You think Gore could flip it to the mirror image?

11. probably Edwards. Wasn't there a poll out of Ohio just this week
that showed Edwards leading Rudy there by six-points while he and Hillary and Obama were neck and neck? If we win everything we won in '04 and can add Ohio we win.

20. That seems to add more evidence that Edwards could flip Ohio for us if he gets the nod.
You can see my post further down the thread with the Rasmussen poll.

15. 41 Votes, but...
... precious little data.

Come on, don't be shy. Share some poll data with fellow DUers. Go out on a limb. Politics is participatory, and we all learn more when more of us speak up.

17. I think That Biden, Clinton, Richardson and Edwards Can all flip enough states.
Though Biden could handily win all but a handful of states, with a massive popular vote victory.

19. Edwards could likely flip Ohio and Florida.
Rasmussen's last poll on the issue showed Edwards doing the best against any combo of Repub candidates, by as much as double-digit margins.

21. Rasmussen Correctly Called Some Close Races in 2006...
... it was one source I liked a lot. I'd be curious to see if they did a post-mortem analysis of their "week before" predictions' accuracy.

You might find these polls of polls interesting, too: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=2304652&mesg_id=2304652
