9. I'm in Berlin several times a year
It's only a 4 hour train ride from where my HQ is.

It is an impressive site to behold. I haven't been inside yet, but
I was through the Holocaust museum in Washington, DC, and that is
impressive enough in its own right.

One encouraging thing is that Germany (at least the west) has never
tried to deny what happened, and even made it a crime to publicly
declare it didn't (the only anti-free-speech laws on the books here
are holocaust denial and Nazi propaganda). My two girls grew up as
Germans here, and the first school they attended was the Anne Frank
Elementary school. I don't know how many countries have schools named
after Anne Frank, but I'm glad Germany is one of them. One of the high
schools (they didn't attend this one) here is named after the Geschwister
Scholl, who made up the White Rose.

10. May I ask where you are?
I live in Frankfurt.

Yes, there are a bunch of schools named after Anne Frank or the Geschwister Scholl. It is important not to forget the victims and the ones that fought against the Nazi regime.

11. I'm usually in a different country very day for work
But when I get a chance to breathe, I'm in the Düsseldorf area.

12. I was just in Berlin and saw that memorial
My first reaction was that it was an ugly bunch of concrete. Then I started walking among the rows, getting lost in the tombstone-like landscape, and the power of the monument grows on you. By the time I walked out of it, I had tears in my eyes.

13. Did you go into the museum as well
I wanted to see the monument for months already. I am not very often in Berlin and the last coule of times I was I didn't had the chance to go. But this time I finally made it. And I am glad I did. It made quite an impression on me.
