Should the European Union get a vote?

Next year's elections - should the European Union, economically and politically tightly bound to the US, have a three percent vote on the outcome? Or be treated as a 51st state?

500 million people in Europe are affected each and every day by the voting-scam called Presidential Elections. Had we had a 3% vote, Kerry, and Gore too, would have won. So is it time, or do you think voting for an American President should be the sole right of Americans?

No kidding, a woman on a game show was asked "Budapest is the capitol of what country in Europe?" Her reply: "I thought Europe was a country."

2. The standard joke about Americans in Europe

is that they probably really enjoyed their 'holiday in the Netherlands. Capitol of Denmark.'

3. No, All countries have their ignorant citizens. What we need to do is find

a way to ensure that American citizens remaining go ignorant is not a right. To act as if other countries do not have their fair share of flakes is a bit misleading.

4. Not saying we're all level-headed,

I'm pointing out that Europeans (and South Americans, and Africans, for that matter. Asians probably too, definately the Middle East) are also affected by decisions made by top level politicians of our biggest trade partner.

Considering what we have here as an excuse for a government, we might have as many flakes as you.

8. Unlike us though, many of those countries will risk job security and life to ensure their outrage is

heard, perhaps that is the key, what are we willing to give up, a country that seems to have everything and we take it all for granted.

9. They ultimately have a choice about being bound to the U.S.

In the future, perhaps they won't. If they ever get into trouble again, they might think twice about letting the U.S. help, knowing the price in arrogance and entitlement they pay afterward. Like the right wing demand that they all join us in every stupid war we think of or be considered "ungrateful for saving their asses in WWII." (Perhaps a questionable proposition anyway.)
