The man's a person. He was injured. Saying, essentially, "This photo op is awesome because this guy is too gross for the president to look at AND EVEN MAYBE TOO GROSS FOR YOU, TOO," doesn't honor that.

I've seen this picture before but to not look at this soldier and honor him by meeting his eyes would be the real tragedy for me (I know our Fucker-In-Chief can't do it).

I just wish Lance Corporal Isaac Gallegos would allow this picture to be shown at the recruiting stations across the country. I wish others could see exactly what it's all about - that their CIC doesn't really look at them (or care) and will never really "see" them, and that they won't really be able to look at him either in the end.
