3. this area is rather red
all national reps are dems here. All locals of CONSERVATIVE (some dems, some GOP). There are very few locally elected liberals or moderate dems.

5. The poll asked WHICH we thought it would be, not if it should be
The way you phrased it, I thought the poll was asking if respondents
might have thought the next president should be from a third party,
which would have been a much more interesting question.

9. What BushCo. needs to keep covered up and swept under the rug
Worries me about whether someone will be selected to NOT make any waves. Democrat or Republican, they are Amping up the memory vacuums.

10. Toss Up
I really think it depends on if us Dems are smart enough to nominate the right candidate... if so, a Dem is a shoe-in. If not, the repubs have a good shot of rallying their base against their perception of evil...

11. Welcome to DU my friend
Why chose? If we elect HRC, we get a conservative former republican that is now a triangulating moderate democrat.

With HRC, we get past party. (I have resigned myself to the fact that HRC will be the next president. To be honest, I don't care if she wins or loses, I think we are fucked until we have another "Fear itself" moment. Then it will be game on again.)

Peace and low stress!

12. IMO, Cheney could be the next POTUS, because I believe * will quit either
just before the convention or after the election in Nov 08 and before Jan 09. Why? Just because Cheney will tell him to and Cheney wants to go down in the books as being what he believes he is.

13. The next President will be a giant douche or a turd sandwich
Both major parties are displaying their propensities for groupthink and mass insanity.

17. I guess a Republican.

I think the least unlikely scenario for the 2008 election is that Giuliani (R) will defeat Clinton (D) by a narrow margin.

I'm much less confident about my prediction of the result than about the nominees, especially Clinton, though.

21. If the discourse on this web site is
any indication, it will be a republican. Heck now the other candidates are ripping each other up with right wing talking points and fodder. Seems like my party of over 25 years can at least do one thing right. Self destruct.
