Does anyone doubt Iran is trying to obtain nukes?

Why should that be a threat to the US or Israel? What? They're going to pass off nukes to "terrorists"? As if that threat doesn't already exist in the form of Pakistan, a country in turmoil already, yet they're one of Bush's best buddies. Any use of any nuclear weapon will result in a massive retaliation - in kind, so it kind of leaves the use of these things in a state of perpetual limbo.

It certainly isn't a cause for more war. The rightwing hysteria regarding Iran developing nukes is based in nonsensical logic designed to scare their base (and the gullible) into killing more people, grabbing more resources, protecting more wealthy interests at the expense of those who can least afford it, in lives and money.

Iran is developing nukes. I don't give a damn.

1. yeah, I think the countries the want nukes far outnumber those who don't
it's a natural reaction when you're being threatened incessantly by countries who do have them.

2. I agree...
.. I'm supposed to worry about Iran when Pakistan already has them?

Can you say "pretext"?

3. Who can blame them? Anything to keep the US out
of their business. I'm sure they've noticed that the countries we DON'T invade all have nukes. Otherwise, look out,
you're fair game!
The fact that a state as unstable as Pakistan has nukes should give even this obtuse admin pause. Forget Iran.

4. Don't care either. If Americans have the right
to bear arms, then countries all over the world should have the right to bear the same arms as the US does. Too bad this only makes sense outside the US.

I for one wouldn't mind if the US got rid of all its nukes - and when they do, that will be the day I'll start worrying about Iran and its meagre 3000 centrifuges. Apparently they need some 52.000 to really get it goin'. And they have NO NUKES yet.

5. We should all give a damn
This argument would have good standing around the world if not for the damage the neocon's take over.

6. they are going to NEED them...
the peak-oil wars aren't going to be pretty, and the u.s. and china are both on record as saying that they WILL NOT be denied the oil they/we need for our economies.

7. I do doubt it actually
I'll wait and see what the big report today says.

Wouldn't blame them if they did though, it would only be fair.

8. I'm not convinced that Iran is trying to obtain nukes nor do I care if they do get them.
Why should only a select few of the world's countries be 'allowed' to have nukes? Deterrence can help keep the world peaceful.
