1. Cloture - The only procedure by which the Senate can ...overcome a filibuster
http://www.senate.gov/reference/glossary_term/cloture.htm

cloture - The only procedure by which the Senate can vote to place a time limit on consideration of a bill or other matter, and thereby overcome a filibuster. Under the cloture rule (Rule XXII), the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours, but only by vote of three-fifths of the full Senate, normally 60 votes.

3. Uh, this is good news.
Cloture means they'll bring the bill to a vote. He's not folding.

Note TPM's update - Snowe and Collins are joining him.

5. Boy, don't you hate when that happens?
Make a post, but get an error in it, and by the time you can acknowledge the error a whole mess of people have already called you on it, and no one thinks to check all the prior responses where the mistake was pointed out and you've acknowledged it, so your inbox just fills with redundant replies.

I made that mistake once -- some guy was calling a law unconstitutional, and I noticed it was an Argentinian law, and made a snarky post that I was impressed he was an expert in Argentinian constitution law.

Turns out he was, it was in his profile and everything.
