I heard something heartening today. And credit should go strongly to 'the lefties'

Wal Mart, today, provides some level of health insurance to two thirds more employees than it did a few years ago.

Its not great insurance and they could well afford to cover 100% of their employees, but its a start.

This would not have happened without the constant push by those of us who favor single payer for all. I'm not aware of any one group or another who pressured Wal Mart, but the mood of the country and the targeted Wal Mart hits from various quarters all originated in 'the left'

That would be pretty much everyone on DU, for example.

Pat yourselves on the back. You really did make something happen. No way on god's green earth would the owners of the Mart of Wal have given one cent to an employee they didn't have to unless they got pressured.

What else might we have accomplished that no one seems to mention?

1. Well the plan to bomb Iran is at least three years behind schedule.

Of course Don Rumsfeld helped with that by fucking up Iraq so bad. But still, all that noise must've made their decisions harder to pass off.

2. More Republicans seem to be exploring their sexuality.

I don't know if I can take credit for that, but they won't, so I guess it's up for grabs.
