Consumer Confidence Lower Today Than In Aftermath of 9-11
Saturday, November 10, 2007

Consumer confidence is lower today than it was in the immediate aftermath of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. By a four-to-one margin (65% to 16%), Americans say the economy is getting worse instead of better. Forty percent (40%) say the economy is already in a recession and another 14% say a recession is coming within six months.

...

But Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson says the economy's fundamentals are going to "shine through": http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=&q=paulson+economy

How does he propose to help these fundamentals shine through?

By working overtime to establish a bailout fund for the banks: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d&q=%22treasury+secretary+henry+paulson%22+banks+fund
