4. One was too many. Is that too hard to understand?
And for that matter, the Spanish Inquisitors did it, the Filipinos did it, the Viet Cong did it...

I'm looking for responses on how misleading a figure it is because...
...it doesn't include all those who've been waterboarded.

It just refers to those the CIA personally admits to doing.

What things might be mentioned to bring in others who've been waterboarded or otherwise tortured under Dubya?

16. Of course that didn't happen under Dubya.
What would be more helpful would be links with info pointing to the true number of those waterboarded or otherwise tortured under Dubya.

6. Why are you asking this question is really the question IMHO...
Edited on Thu Nov-08-07 08:44 PM by LakeSamish706
Water boarding is Illegal... get it Illegal for many reasons... 1st of all We do not want our captured troops being Water boarded 2nd. It does not necessarily make those that are, give any credible information and 3rdly... It has been discussed at large in the Geneva convention... It hurts, it kills, and it can Mame ...

Oh and by the way.. How about letting us Water Board you to test my above theories ....

15. Of course the best reason to oppose it is it's used to lie.
History shows almost all of those tortured or threatened with torture will say whatever you want them to say.

The main reason authoritarian dictators want the ability to torture is to get the innocent to confess, and to get them to withdraw their accusations against the guilty.

Sorry if you've misread my intentions in formulating and posting this pop quiz.

In this debate such are the talking points we must be prepared to answer IMOH.

8. It clearly states only 3 al-queda
what qualifies as al-queda? Insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan certainly dont have to be classified as Al Queda.

Which in no way translates into "only three have been waterboarded".

waterboarding. How many in our secret prisons have been waterboarded and where does that number come from?
