Democrats pushing for 'up or down vote' by Senate on House resolution supporting troops, opposing es
Democrats will once again vote this Saturday on whether to begin debate on President Bush’s escalation, RAW STORY has learned. However, Democrats will still need the 60 votes they were unable to amass when the Warner-Levin resolution was blocked earlier this month.

Whether the Senate can move the debate to the floor will depend, according to a statement released to RAW STORY by Democratic Leader Harry Reid’s office, on “Republicans who have expressed their concern over the Senate’s failure to debate the war in Iraq.”

<snip>

A statement from Reid’s office acquired by RAW STORY says, “Democrats are determined to give our troops and the American people the debate they deserve, so the Senate will have another Iraq vote this Saturday. We will move for a clear up or down vote on the House resolution which simply calls on Congress to support the troops and opposes the escalation.”

It looks like the Senate is Working overtime to resolve this issue as well they should. Why the hell should the senate work any less than our boys & girls in Iraq???? In fact I think they should be willing to work 24/7 to resolve this issue. After all that is what they are paid for..
