What happens the day we find out that Repubs had access to our records

and that, locally, they exhalted some kind of retribution?

Think back to the days after 9/11. They enlisted everyone's help to gather information, even before the NSA started playing loosey goosey with the wiretapping. Pesticide guys, cable guys, truckers, mailmen, people who normally had access to your home were recruited and taught to keep their eyes open, allegedly to spot the terrorists amongst us.

I can tell you with certainty (because I've read a law suit or two) that the Republicans in my community are uber looney tunes. Long before 9/11 they were retaliating against each other, using dirty tricks or city connections to send a message to people who fell out of line. So what happened after 9/11? I certainly don't believe this practice would have stopped. If anything, it's probably magnified.

So, what happens the day that the records are opened and we discover just how far up the social networks some were willing to go to retaliate against some troublesome Democrat? If we knew about it, where would we go for recourse?
