One of the writers at my blog just posted this. I don't usualy "pimp" my site's material here; however, in this case, DU is a better place to give Obama's peeps a heads-up on the email campaign targeting the Christian mailing lists.

Here are some excerpts :

I am not pushing my political views on anyone but I am asking you to OPEN YOUR EYES TO WHAT IS GOING ON IN OUR COUNTRY TODAY.

This guy obviously has no loyalty to anything, but possibly "ISLAM", and he wants to to the president of the United States and refuses to say the pledge of Allegiance to the country he wants to be the leader.

I say ABSOLUTELY NO. How do you feel??? These butchers have already told the citizens of the world that they are spreading ISLAM all over the world, by force if needed.

Every citizen in the US needs to read this. The word MUST get out on this @%&*A^)%@#, could not think of anything worst than what my current vocabulary is, so you just fill in what you wish.

the importance is not why did he not have his hand over his heart etc. but the blog is showing how the Christian right is using this a an excuses to label Obama as a radical Muslim and the using guerilla warfare e-mail list. can you imagine what they will be doing to him should he get the nomination?

A right wing cousin sent it to me, I responded:

I do believe the Flag Code says you are supposed to put your hand over your heart during the anthem. So of course, some would be incensed about Obama's failure to show proper respect (whether out of ignorance or whatver). I would say in many cases this outrage is hypocritical since the
Flag Code would also prohibit the wearing of the flag as clothing or is use for commercial purposes (which as we know, many people calling themselves patriotic do).

I have attached pictures of President Bush violating the Flag Code. I do not believe these acts have anything to do with his effectiveness as Commander-in-Chief. So why should Obama's have anything to do with his?

From what I understand about Obama, he is avoiding gestures which are all too often phony displays of patriotism and focus on true patriotic acts. How patriotic is it to wear a flag pin and support cutting Veteran's benefits? How patriotic is it to pledge allegiance to the flag and mortgage
our future to China?

Also,
Anytime some one refers to Barack Hussein Obama it smells funny. If one has concerns about Obama's fitness for the job or disagrees with his positions, that is one thing. But using his middle name as if that is some how relevant...smacks of a smear job to me. Or, as my step father said, would it matter if Obama's middle name were Washington?

I'm probably voting for Gravel in the primary.

16. Pay close attention to the pic, try to look past Obama. Obviously, there are flags in

several locations in the area, there are at least three different focuses.

Also, this could have been taken just before or just after the anthem was played. Richardson looks as if he's removing his hand from his heart.

Shutter speeds are thousandths of a second. This is literally a millisecond in time. We don't know what this really shows--and I'm sick of seeing "progressives" try to make it into a stink.
