about giving all priority to the impeachment of Richard B. Cheney.

I left a callback number and let her know that many citizens could provide whatever was required for documentation/investigation especially those of us at political websites that have accumulated the record of crimes.

I spoke briefly of being involved in many of the same struggles and movements that John Conyers had been, especially civil rights and organized labor, which have been systemically violated since this criminal administration was installed.

I strongly suggest DUers post links to whatever they have accumulated over the years relating to the crimes of Richard B. Cheney in this thread, for the sake of convenience.

I think I'll put at least a half-hour in on this after my boy heads off to school. Eight am here (L.A.) means it's not quite lunchtime in DC. Lots of time to reach people.

I actually hung up on a DSCC caller yesterday. She started in with this scripted spiel and I stopped her two sentences in, and told her flat-out - I am NOT giving A SINGLE DIME until and unless IMPEACHMENT IS BACK ON THE TABLE. PERIOD. I would not let her interrupt to return to the script. I said I was particularly angry with the utterly useless and disgraceful dianne feinstein and even though I am a lifelong Dem, I would NOT be voting for her EVER AGAIN. Her mucasey cave-in was absolutely the last straw!!!

I explained to this poor hapless woman the following: You guys do NOT understand. You just don't get it. What we voted for last November, after working like dogs all year and donating til it hurt - in many cases donating money we needed for other things, like food, child care, health insurance (or uninsured medical expenses) or to put gas in the car - you know, frivolities like that - was not merely to stop the war. It was to STOP ALL OF THIS!!! To STOP bUSH!!! To STOP THE RUBBER-STAMPING!!! To STOP THE republi-CONS!!! To STOP THESE God-AWFUL POLICIES that are leading us to ruin and bankruptcy, making us less safe, and utterly trashing the Constitution!!! And yes, to STOP THE WAR ALSO. I told her that until and unless the Dems grow a backbone, I am not giving a single cent.

And then I hung up.

I'll tell you this: I've sounded off (without the hang-up, til now) to other Democratic party fundraising callers who've tried to shake me down, and at the end of it, I have routinely gotten the same reaction - that I'm not the first one from whom they've heard this.

No backbone? No money! No IMPEACHMENT? NO MONEY!!! Forget it!!! I'm only buying BACKBONE these days!

Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi is giving more billions for "combat operations" while many of our veterans and their families are homeless, physically and emotionally wounded, unemployed, experimented on, denied rights...

BTW - if you get unsatisfactory results with the TOLL FREE numbers, consider trying her locally. Yes, I realize that one would be a long distance call. Every now and then it sometimes is necessary. For example, I've found the best way to get through to Harry Reid's office is to call one of his Nevada offices. Same thing, sometimes, with John Conyers.

I've got so many I've sent mostly in my microsoft Word program. Change a few words here and there with each issue. Then fax all the offices involved of each member as well as the committee. It takes staff members to go collect these. I want to keep them busy. I want them overwhelmed so they get the point and spend their time on it.
