I think we should impeach Pelosi
Pelosi doesn't want to impeach a criminal like Cheney? Fine. Let's impeach her.

7. Why do you say that?
The Constitution states that The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States may be impeached. Am I missing something?

21. members of the judiciary also can be impeached.
Actually, the very first attempt to impeach after the Constitution was ratified was directed at a United States Senator. He was expelled by the Senate after it was revealed that he was trying to get certain Indian tribes to assist the British in conquering Spanish territory in Florida. The House then impeached him but the Senate dismissed the matter. Some of those arguing for dismissal argued that impeachment doesn't apply to legislators. Others took the position the matter was moot because he'd been expelled already. There has never been another attempt to impeach a senator or member of the house. Several other Senators were expelled during the Civil War and other efforts to expel a Senator have either failed or ended with the member's resignation. In the house, five members have been expelled, three during the civil war and two more recently.

23. that is the third branch
yes... but the house and the senate do not face impeachments

They face expulsions and in some states (though that would be tested I fear in the federal legal system) recalls by the states.

16. Any Democrat opposing the impeachment of Bush & Cheney favors retaining "unitary executive" powers

for future presidents.

Impeaching Cheney is NOT about Cheney.

It is about re-establishing an ignored constitution.

24. I just wish I knew why so many cowards are willing to let criminals walk.
Me, the shame of such a stance would be worse than death. To go through life, knowing I advocated NOT holding criminals accountable for their many crimes resulting in so much death - I'd eat a bullet.

But then, I have a conscience concerned with more than who "wins", unlike so many here.

As for Darth owning her; got proof?

As much as disagree with The Speaker, impeachment of a Dem by the Dems would be akin to Tigers eating their young. I'd much rather see the Repugs do that, it's much more entertaining.

Pelosi's Congress showed the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years and backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time.

"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

this 110th Congress has had more roll call votes this year than any
other Congress in history, almost doubling the number under the previous Congress overseen by Boehner
and House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL):
The House last week held its 943rd roll call vote of the year, breaking the previous
record of 942 votes, a mark set in 1978. The vote was on a procedural motion related to a
mortgage foreclosure bill. When the House adjourned on Oct. 4 for the long weekend, the
chamber had reached 948 roll call votes, putting Democrats on pace to easily eclipse 1,000
votes on the House floor in 2007.
Last year, the Republican controlled House held 543 votes, and for historical comparison,
the last time there was a shift in power in Congress, Republicans held 885 roll call votes in
1995. The Senate, which has held 363 votes this year, isn’t on pace to break any
records, but has already surpassed the 2006 Senate mark of 279 votes.
Much of the lack of progress can be traced back to obstructionism by conservatives. Approximately “1 in
6 roll-call votes in the Senate this year have been cloture votes,” noted a JulyMcClatchy report. “If this
pace of blocking legislation continues, this 110th Congress will be on track to roughly triple the previous
record number of cloture votes.”
It’s interesting that Boehner is criticizing the 110th Congress as doing nothing. After all, the House, under
his leadership, met for just 101 days during the second session of the 109th Congress, setting the record
“for the fewest days in session in one year since the end ofWorld War II.”
