6. Okay
DK brought up the impeachemnt
Steny hoyer tried to table it and the Republicans think it is great for them so they switched votes to NOT table it.
Now they are voting to send it to committee.

C-Span already has the convetional wisdom that the Dems lost on this. I don't think-so most people will hear that Cheney was almost impeached and love it.

9. funny bizniz
kucinich brought a motion to impeach.

the Dem leadership moved to table the discussion. The GOP saw the rules that require 1 hour of debate, and vote, and thought they could embarrass the spineless shitheads ruining the democratic party, so they switched their votes to deny "tabling" the Kucinich resolution.

So that passed. Hoyer then tried to move the resolution to committee, effectively killing it.
Kucinich demanded a voice vote, so hoyer lost his spine and withdrew it.

Now, they had a procedural vote, after which they will debate the resolution and there will be a vote on impeachment.

I think that is about right.

10. Kucinich dared the GOP and they said, "ok let's play."
We may have some Cheney impeachment discussion.

I think we were set up.

13. Even if it's a set-up, how can getting Cheney's deeds on the tube
and in the official records be a bad thing?

15. I really don't care what happens now. I care that it's officially on record
and win or lose, the Dems at least tried to do the right thing.

The only legitimate justification for not impeaching is that nothing impeachable happened.

17. There will be a vote on impeaching Cheney. Kucinich introduced it,
it looked like it was about to be tabled, and then the Republicans all switched their votes to "no" on the table motion. Now there's going to be a discussion and then vote on impeachment.

23. Yeah, I saw that happened since I posted that.
The excitement is over; it can now peacefully die in committee.

21. Absolutely nothing
Political shenanigans where the Republicans voted to move impeachment forward in order to embarrass Dems, but were short-circuited when Dems buried the bill in committee.
