I dunno, that's pretty risky. This would die a quiet death, right now, if they just let it go. If this got to a vote then the MSM would pick up on it, for sure, and it'd be a high-visibility vote-of-confidence for the POTUS if they knocked it down. Pretty damn risky.

They want it to pass the House and go on to the Senate. They want to see Impeachment and a Senate trial occur because they figure it will benefit them politically the same way it benefitted Democratic politically when Republicans voted to impeach Clinton. Frankly, I'm not entirely sure they aren't correct.
