I have a nominee for 'Most Consevative Idiots': Raymon 'Lying Scumbag' Oberly.
This one will resonate with you folks who live in the Hudson Valley region of New York State. I know there are a few of you on DU! Basically, we have a race going on in these parts for State Assembly between Democrat Joel Tyner and Rescumlican Raymon Oberly.
Last week, a mailing went out in support of Raymon Oberly featuring a quote from Joel Tyner: "I hate this country."
Uh oh! :grr: :argh:  He hates America! He's a LIBERAL! He must be some kind of TERRORIST SYMPATHIZER, right?
So let's look at the quote. It was attributed to local radio station 101.5 WPDH, specifically to the morning show, Cooper and Tobin, of which Tyner is a frequent guest.
Now, Tobin is more towards the conservative side, Tyner to the liberal side, so the two often (jokingly) butt heads...Tobin's a cool guy. He busts Tyner's chops, but not in a mean or vicious way. Anyway, during one of these interviews, Tobin kept basically pestering him about 'hating the country' (based on the wing nut stereotype that liberals hate America) to which Tyner sarcastically replied 'Yeah John, I hate this country.' Cooper and Tobin both knew that he said this SARCASTICALLY, and the remark was forgotten.
Not by Raymon Oberly, who used the quote as a means to attack Tyner's patriotism just days before the election. Also by doing it last week, with only a couple days remaining till the election, Tyner is given little time to respond to this LIE.
What's the matter Oberly, can't win on your own merits so you have to smear your opponent to get an edge?
Tobin was PISSED this morning on the radio. He put it out there that the ad is a lie and Tyner's comment was taken GROSSLY out of context. I have to give Tobin, a conservative, props for sticking up for someone on the opposite side of the political spectrum. He didn't like being USED as a means of attacking someone. Tobin gave Oberly the chance to defend his ad on air, but as of this morning, I hadn't heard if he called to defend it or not. So far, silence. I'll let you know if he defends or apologizes or what have you.
I want people to see this, because I want people to know. Raymon Oberly is a lying scumbag who doesn't deserve a vote for dog catcher, let alone state assembly.
Raymon Oberly: typical Re:puke:
