It's played a few times this weekend. It is intertesting to see how the Senators both wanted to turn up when and where they were not expected to assess how open the Vietnamese would actually be when the investigators came.
It was interesting seeing Kerry with the young Vietnamese kids. From learning from them the name of an animal (water buffalo?) to asking the interpreter to warn them to be careful of the tractor that was on the same street the were on - other than the language barrier, it could have been Iowa.
It was interesting seeing Bob Smith, the extremely conservative NH Senator. The conversation the guy taping it was interesting when he spoke of seeing places Kerry was in the war. In 2004, he endorsed Kerry. At the time I thought it was because Bush endorsed Sununu in the primary against him, but from this the respect seemed genuine. (The endorsement was funny - (from memory) he praised Kerry as a person and a war hero - then said they never voted the same way, but with a Republican Congress Kerry could not pass too many liberal bills and that he was fit to be President.) He was also huge - he was easily taller than Kerry and likely weighed twice as much.
