1. Nothing severe in central Maine - 20 mph winds gusting to 30. Temps in the upper 30's
Had a burst of snow and sleet to start it off (surprise!) but it's all rain now (and coming down at a good clip).

East of Bangor looks a little sketchy though...and I wouldn't be surprised to see more snow and sleet wrapping in as the storm makes landfall and exits the Maritimes...

3. Is that Noel outside my window? (MA)

It's been very windy and rainy, but otherwise Ok.

Not enough wind to worry about downed trees so-far.

6. I'm on the North Shore of MA, about 5 miles "inland".
Lots of rain (much needed), and gusts of wind.

A fairly good sized tree came down into the driveway of the house behind me, on the next street over. No major damage, as far as I can tell from my own back yard, but they are too busy for me to ask them.

It is not as bad here as it is on the South Shore and Cape Cod.

The storm is definitely in the last few hours. I'll be glad to see it go on its own ocean voyage.

8. Lots of wind and rain
Not all that bad. But I'm about 25 miles inland. The coast is where it's supposed to be the worst.

10. In Nashua, NH (say 50 miles inland)...
It's been raining very hard since about noon,
quite windy, but nothing hugely dangerous.

Ocean is up way high with tides in the afternoon.

Tree limbs are coming down but nothing extraordinary.

13. What Noel showed me this week
is that is is distinctly possible for a major hurricane to hit the Eastern seaboard. This was one hell of a tropical storm/hurricane and it never passed Cat1. I haven't seen a tropical storm this size in my life time, but I'll have to check the records. Noel should wake up the Climate change doubters.
