Waterboarding Used to Be a Crime - WaPo
This is no longer the nation our forefathers founded....19 hijackers allowed our government to destroy our constitution....

<snip> After World War II, we convicted several Japanese soldiers for waterboarding American and Allied prisoners of war. At the trial of his captors, then-Lt. Chase J. Nielsen, one of the 1942 Army Air Forces officers who flew in the Doolittle Raid and was captured by the Japanese, testified: "I was given several types of torture. . . . I was given what they call the water cure." He was asked what he felt when the Japanese soldiers poured the water. "Well, I felt more or less like I was drowning," he replied, "just gasping between life and death."

1. We knew after Abu Ghraib that torture was being committed in our name. It is a shame
that we are just now STARTING to confront it. I remember going to Deborah Pryce's office after Abu Ghraib with several others to express outrage at the use of torture. That was a long time ago.

2. I am sure that waterboarding is just the tip of the iceberg.
Can hardly wait til our police start using it.

4. The US needs to change it's motto on our dollar bill to better reflect our American values.
Instead of "in God we trust", we need to have "in Torture we trust". Those are the new American values supported by our new American government.

7. Waterboarding is STILL a crime.
If I cruise on over to the neighbor's house and waterboard him then I'm probably going to park my wheels in the local prison for quite a long time.
