Impeach and Indict The Bastards or Resign Your Office!
The "liberal left" needs to realize these evil people are neither stupid nor
incompetent. No matter how many times and how slowly you explain to them
their "mistake" they will inwardly laugh at you
beause everything is going to plan. Iraq
might be a disaster for the majority of the US but it's a windfall for Bush.

BTW, Cheney and Wolfowitz planned invading Iraq in order to steal its oil
back in 1992 when Cheney was Sec of dDef and Wolfie
was Under-Sec of Def for policy. The plan also
called for using Iraq as a base to launch
invasions of the surrounding oil-rich countries.

Cheney has pushed long and hard to be able to use
torture. Gonzalez and Yoo produced bizarre
legal constructs saying that "torture isn't
really torture" and the Geneva Conventions are
"quaint." Bribery and blackmail were used to
convinced various countries not to refer the US to
the international court for war crimes. Cheney
tried to get Leahy to abandon his bill explicitly
making torture illegal (it already was, anyway). When Leahy refused,
Cheney begged for an exemption for the CIA.
When the bill passed, because it mandated
behavior defined in a US military manual of
conduct, the manual was re-issued with five new
classified pages (you can bet your fortune what
they say). Bush issued a signing statement on
the Leahy Bill saying that because he had his
fingers crossed behind his back when he signed
it then he doesn't have to obey it.

These guys really want to be able to use
torture. And it's not because they get off on
it (although they almost certainly do). Torture
is an integral part of their strategy.

For a start, under international law the US,
as an occupying power, must remain in
Iraq until there is a stable government. The
torture inflames the insurgency meaning there
is no stable government. So the US must stay
exactly where Cheney wants it.

The torture is inflaming the whole Islamic world.
It just so happens that a very large proportion
of the Islamic world sits upon the bulk of
the planet's oil reserves. Nobody would be surprised
if Iranian or Nigerian or Syrian hotheads conducted
a terrorist operation on US soil, which would be
used by Bush to justify an invasion. And if the
hotheads refuse to bite at the bait a false-flag
operation can and will be arranged.

Things are working out just perfectly for the
Bush Family Evil Empire. No matter how slowly you
explain it to them that Iraq is a disaster for the
US, for Iraq, and for the world, you'll never
convince them they made a "mistake" or to change course.

Impeachment and indictment are the only
tools that stand any chance of dealing with the problem.

1. Bush/Cheney will not stop until impeachment begins
Michael Abramowitz and Jonathan Weisman write in The Washington Post: "The White House plans to try implementing as much new policy as it can by administrative order while stepping up its confrontational rhetoric with Congress after concluding that President Bush cannot do much business with the Democratic leadership, administration officials said. . . .

"White House aides say the only way Bush seems to be able to influence the process is by vetoing legislation or by issuing administrative orders, as he has in recent weeks on veterans' health care, air-traffic congestion, protecting endangered fish and immigration. . . .

3. Impeachment won't stop them
they'll carry on as always, secure in the knowledge that they'll never be removed.

There aren't 2 Republican Senators that would vote to remove them, much less 17.

10. No

but they won't vote to remove the President and the vice President.

They won't even vote to overturn a veto. You think they're going to simultaneously remove Bush and Cheney? That's laughable.

Nor is there any credible evidence of treason or bribery.

2. Ten Reasons to Impeach
1. Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization, and subjecting our military personnel to unnecessary harm, debilitating injuries, and deaths.

2. Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

3. Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and without access to counsel.

4. Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians, journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons, including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.

5. Violating U.S. law and the Constitution through widespread wiretapping of the phone calls and emails of Americans without a warrant.

6. Violating the Constitution by using "signing statements" to defy hundreds of laws passed by Congress.

7. Violating U.S. and state law by obstructing honest elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.

8. Violating U.S. law by using paid propaganda and disinformation, selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive WMD proliferation for political retribution.

9. Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.

10. Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack prior to Sept. 11, 2001, and in increasing air pollution causing global warming.

Send to your Congressional representative.

9. We have to impeach: For our future.. It is not just about Bush!
If we do not impeach the rule of law is breached, and these changes in power structure continue into future generations.
