They're drafting diplomats!
I'm watching Olbermann for the first time tonight, and it's extraordinary.

The diplomats are not happy, but if they don't go, they will be persona{s} non grata and may be fired.
* demands allegiance above all! And the older ones complaining are the ones with the knowledge.

What qualifies someone as a 'diplomat' in *'s government anyway?

Bush administration but not stupid enough to resist deployment to Iraq.

I say we send Bill Kristol. Let's let ol' Bill gather the various militias and talk some turkey.

7. Kristol is smart and free of a draft. These folks are another story.
What are these diplomats 'diplomatting' now? Nothing that I know of. And how many? Maybe it's time their asses got to work! :P

numerous administrations. I don't remember the name of the former diplomat interviewed on KO this evening, but according to her, the majority of the older/career officials opposed the war from the start. And retributions were meted out if you didn't toe the Maladministration line.

3. The diplomats call it a 'death sentence.'
I think a lot of them will quit.

What happens when we have no diplomats? Why fill the positions now?

14. They are here, indeed...
And they want to stay here!

They loathe what we're doing in Iraq, and have no wish to be killed while attempting to do their jobs over there!

This is what the whole mess is about...

Nobody wants to serve in our embassy in Iraq...

15. But the soldiers have no choice. I wish the 'diplomats' would do
their job and disavow this illegal occupation. But I suspect they'd lose their jobs doing that, too. :( Something's going to give, and someone will be chatting it up any day now.

16. Saw the Olbermann report --- odd use of the word "draft" . . .
and these people are surely not volunteering to go --
as one of them stressed they are being FORCED --

An African-American guy with the Bush administration tried to defend these actions ---
Someone -- presume a reporter -- queried that there is less than 22% support for this war in Iraq.
I think that was the point and 88% against.

No problem for the Bush guy so the reporter persisted --- don't you think those numbers require the administration to rethink this?

Bush guy replies -- 88% of Americans supported slavery -- were they right?

Now -- what we're talking about here is people being FORCED into a situation where they have no free will and may lose their lives ---

I think the Bush dictatorship loses this arguement --

17. Bush is building a billion dollar embassy in Baghdad - larger
than the Vatican - and now he needs people to put there. It's impossible to make this stuff up.
