God bless the United States - and dear god - we earned this mulligan - if it is true at all that we reap what we sow - then you owe us this one, god.

5. I think I can just look at the history of it.
I will try my best to close my eyes right now - I think it may be done anyway.

2. And by the way - I meant word for word everything I said about
Japan - that I said I thought our kids were worth everything- I meant it. Every word.

These kids - every kid of ours that ever fought any war, anytime - they are all the same to me. I love every single one of them - I have an idea of what they gave up, right or wrong - to do the thing the government, right or wrong, asked them to do - they got no voice in that right or wrong vote - they should not have - and they lived with the consequences - or sometimes died with them.

They were ALL good kids, our kids. It was always up to us to do the right thing by them, by our country - and if we can't care enough about our country, our kids - then we should be damned. Maybe we will be.

3. I'm sure the 250,000 people who were vaporised in that second agree.
But they're Japanese so they don't count right?

4. I listen to people talk about the bombings in Hiroshima and
Nagasaki - and not one ever understood - bomb or not - every single day we would have killed tens of thousands of people with incendiaries - we killed what, a hundred thousand in Tokyo -

I actually read the war plans on the coming invasion of Japan- best estimates 5 million dead - you know that??

My problem with Japan has little to do with the war, really. War is war. It has to do with a complete failure to take responsibility. To do the right thing.

I have pretty strong feelings aboutt this thing - so I will stop.

Joe
