Al Gore is Proven Leadership with Unmatchable Experience, Stature and Vision
I wrote a diary on Democracy for America when another candidate's supporters went just a bit to far with their lies, smears and attacks on Al Gore in an effort to try to get more support for their candidate. I couldn't understand why they constantly felt the need to resort to such tactics on a fellow Democrat, let alone Mr. Gore, with his incredible record, that they resort to the same lies we complain of from the reich wing and special interests. Why can't thy try stating why THEY support their preferred candidate.

My advice is to try educate themselves about the facts, instead of being lead by lies or propaganda put out by opposition, Lobbyists or Corporate Special Interests that have ulterior motives, and they would probably be much happier learning how to deal with realities and be less angry smearing good people.

Why do I want Al Gore to serve as President of the United States, where he once already won the popular vote, but didn’t have the chance to serve the American People in the position he was elected? Because Al Gore has a tremendous record of accomplishments and experience with a priority of doing good for the people and our world-from his years of public service and beyond in to private life, from when he volunteered to serve in Vietnam (even though he was against the war), becoming a reporter for the Tennessean for 5 years upon his return, serving in the US House, serving in the US Senate, serving as US Vice President and now spending his time in private life working tirelessly getting attention to recognize and solve the Climate Crisis. Al Gore is a proven leader with stature, vision and unmatchable experience and has been proven to be correct on some of the most important issues we still face, like the Iraq war, the deficit, health care, over-reaching powers, trampling of our Constitution, the environment and Global Warming. We deserve him to be our president. He is asking us to rebuild our democracy and for citizen activism to bring about the change we need. Please add your voice and show we know we deserve the best to be in the Oval Office to make the agenda and policy to solve the many crisis we face.

You too can vote FOR Al Gore in the Democracy for America Presidential Pulse Poll. Click on “Other” and write in Al Gore.

Here is an incredible video that shows so well why we need Al Gore making policy in the Oval Office.

You can give your 2 cents by writing Mr. Gore personally here:
(enclose 2 pennies and tell him you'll send more when he announces)

Office of Former Vice President
The Honorable Al Gore
2100 West End Avenue, Suite 620
Nashville, TN 37203

If you want to see his dynamic speech at Constitution Hall about our Constitutional Crisis and the overreaching powers by the Executive Branch, here is the entire speech on video:

Constitution Hall Full speech, video Jan 16, 2006

And then, only a couple weeks ago, Mr. Gore made 3 video shorts reaffirming his positions on 3 important issues we still face.

1. The Iraq War
2. Health Care
3. Our Rights

you can view them on his television networks site.

Join the growing support that we want to reElect Al Gore. He will not only move us forward being the true Progresive he has been for decades, but he also stands the best chance to win the General Election, as these many polls show.

3. The problem I have with this is,
I don't think Al Gore WANTS the job, and I sure as hell don't blame him.

4. Oh, he has always wanted. He even stated this summer in Denver
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 06:01 PM by LindainCinci
on his book tour that he "would love to be President". He never said he didn't want or won't. He said he wasn't currently running or planning. He has acknowledged not being very good at the politics of it. Which I might add I'm thankful for in many ways. Folks who like to make claims for the politics of the issues, are always giving empty rhetoric.

I want the person who has the desire to do the good work, but not looking for the power of it. He has right to be cautious and it's a two way street. Like I told him in one of my first letters. I was never politically active before. He helped create this information highway we are all using and I'm sorry I wasn't there for him, besides just my vote, the first time, but I am here now and promise to work my buns off for him.

A quote I saved because it means so much even now today when I hear all these other candidates make these claims with ease, even when none of it is supported by their votes and record.

"the politics"

By Ezra Klein
Issue Date: 04.08.06

Snip

Out of office, Gore’s passion for issues hasn’t changed. Indeed, it has intensified, the excitement of a wonk whose obsessions have suddenly exploded into relevancy. Bruce Reed, president of the centrist Democratic Leadership Council (the DLC, which Gore was once closely identified with) and former-domestic policy advisor in the Clinton White House, laughed that “it’s not the politics of climate change that made him want to do a documentary on it. For 25 years he’s tried to get people interested. … This is a guy who, in the late 1980’s, went to the South Pole and brought back home movies of penguins playing on the ice surrounded by senators in parkas and wrote about it for The New Republic.”

16. Sorry for the delay,It was during a presentation he gave, here is the quote and link
And of course, someone asked if he was going to run for president in 2008. His response, which even he admitted he keeps giving, is that he feels he can better accomplish his goals on the grassroots level than on the campaign trail. He never ruled out running for office again, though, and he did say pointedly, “Don’t get me wrong. I would love to be president.”

17. Thanks. I had not heard that tidbit before - it really does seem to be up
in the air right now. I am behind him whatever he does next -- we all have to be to get done what we must get done.

8. Run Al Run !!
With everything at stake, it seems almost inconcievable to me that he would let this Golden Opportunity slip by. Some intersting dates next week ... Monday 11/5 : the deadline for filing in the State of Illinois. Thursday 11/8 : dual appearances on "30 Rock" and later on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" . I suspect the situation will be crystal clear after that last one ( and actually HOPEFULLY on Monday ).

Say the word Mr.Gore ... I'm ready to get to work for you, AND the planet !

9. Gore/Richardson '08. That's the ticket.
I am trying to get Gore on the Tennessee primary ballot in Tennessee. For some reason, I can't get my state party critters to return my emails or voice mails. Oh well, I'm not stopping -- tomorrow is another day.

And if they won't respond, I'll get in the state party chair's face at a public event next week. Then I'll call my county election administrator to find out the rules/regs for getting Gore's name on the ballot.

If all that fails, I'll support a write-in campaign.

After all, Tennessee is Al's home state, for crisssake.

15. Cross posted from another thread...
Gore has never, ever said, "No, I'm NOT GOING TO RUN." He is a brilliant man. He knows hopes are still high and his vagueness is fueling the fire. He knows this as well as we all know this.

Al Gore is not an evil man, not a mean man. I cannot believe he would intentionally cause any of us grief. If he was firm in NOT running, he would emphatically say so. To date, he has not done this. Not even close.

The only logical thought is that, knowing what we all know, he is allowing this momentum to remain, and to build, for only one reason... when he comes forward and says, you all win, I hear your outcry, I'm going to run.

19. True for NH
I think some big states have deadlines in about a month. But honestly, he's running out of time. I don't believe for a second he's running. But I do wish he'd make a Shermanesqu statement.
