Thanks a bunch!

20. Start here:
Roy Zimmerman — Funny Songs About Ignorance, War and Greed.

Zimmerman's a political satirist and a freakin' genius. In the '90s he fronted The Foremen, a band very much like the Limeliters and the Kingston Trio. In fact, former Limeliters' bassist Andy Corwin was with the Foremen.

He's also on MySpace and YouTube.

21. Pete Seeger
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 01:48 PM by MadinMo
By Pete Seeger --- something like "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy". I still remember when he sang it on the Smothers Brothers show and got to the line "We're NECK DEEP in the Big Muddy and the Big Fool says to press on". It was very radical for the day. Wonderful song.

30. Anything by Anti-Flag, but especially "The Project For A New American Century." Here are the lyrics:
It's a gut check of what you believe

Fuck shit up

A Global Pax Americana
Neo-con, neo-fascist blue print - USA hegemony
Charlatan war hawks, untried, untrue
Celebrate and exploit tragedy
To steal away control

And it's a gut check of what you believe!
Will you stand up for democracy?
or a New American Century?
Endless...
Endless violence, endless hatred
Endless empire tyranny
Will you make a stand for human dignity?
Or never ending hate?

It's a think tank, psycho and crazed
War profiteering membership - a world catastrophe
They've got a war plan that counts on you
to kill for their corporate empire
while they sit at home!

And it's a gut check of what you believe
Will you stand up for democracy?
or a New American Century?
Endless...
Endless violence, endless hatred
Endless empire tyranny
Will you make a stand for human dignity?

Are you going to...Fight Back!
Time to prove what you really believe
We gotta FIGHT BACK!
Until we win it all
We gotta FIGHT BACK!
Will you heed the call?
The Neo-Fascist race to war
The PNAC plan to rule the world

Brothers and sisters the time is right fucking now,
Everyone and i fucking mean everyone in this building
Raise your fist up high get it up sing
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!

It's a gut check of what you believe
Will you stand up for democracy?
or a New American (let's go!) Century?

Fuck shit up

And it's a gut check of what you believe
Will you stand up for democracy?
or a New American Century?
Endless...
Endless violence, endless hatred
Endless empire tyranny
Will you make a stand for human dignity?

Or never ending hate?

31. Also, "If I Was President" by Wyclef Jean. Lyrics:

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If I was president

An old man told me, instead of spending billions on the war,
we can use some of that money, in the ghetto.
I know some so poor, they use the spring as the shower,
when screaming "fight the power".
That's when the vulture devoured

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If I was president...
If I was president...
If I was president

But the radio won't play this.
They call this rebel music.
How can you refuse it, children of moses?

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If i was president

Tell the children the truth, the truth.
Christopher Columbus didn't discover America.
Tell them the truth.
The truth
YEAH! Tell them about Marcus Garvey.
The truth YEAH! The truth.
Tell them about Martin Luther King.
Tell them the truth.
The Truth.
Tell them about JFK

If I was President

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If I was president
