Esquire Magazine profile of Dennis Kuicnich!
http://www.esquire.com/features/kucinich1107">It's Kucinich Time!

The pure products of America go crazy," wrote William Carlos Williams -- antipoet of "the thing itself" -- but Dr. Williams was from north Jersey, and as far as I know never strayed to Cleveland, whose own pure products long have been flame tempered, union made, and born batshit insane. So when I tell you that Dennis Kucinich is first of all a sane, sane man, and secondly, fit to be president -- and thirdly: It's Kucinich time, now, because what this blue-balled, war-thwacked nation needs is not another scleroid corporate whore but a sixty-one-year-old vegan peacemonger, poor beyond corruption and honest as spit, hauling balls big enough to both choke Dick Cheney and keep a smile like a woozy kitten's on the love-lit face of a twenty-nine-year-old heartthrob wife; and if not now, when? and if not Dennis, who? -- when I tell you this hand over heart and cheek untongued, then it behooves me also to say that I am a son of the same crooked flaming river, Cleveland-born and -bred and unashamed.

1. Well now I
like that paragraph in spite of the reference to balls and his sexual prowess. Those I can do without but what is says is what I think needs to be said. Now I will bookmark for later reading. Thanks for posting this.

4. It bugs me that the writer considers someone who earns
$170,000 a year with very generous benefits, poor. Otherwise, I like it.

5. I did not see that in the article...
...can you provide a quote where the author claims that Dennis is poor? I read the whole article and did not see such a statement. He certainly went into detail about Dennis' background, which includes growing up in extreme poverty. But I don't remember seeing him say that Dennis is poor now. So please, let's see the money quote.

8. Ah, I see...
...well you are right, he surely is not poor now, and that quote would seem to imply otherwise. But I think the author was just trying to wax eloquent, and harken back to the man's compelling rise from poverty.

Loaned him the money to bail out.

It's not easy to run for office and hold office while opposing all the major cash cow interests.

10. I think he is "comparably" speaking..

He is much poorer than the politicians who take money from lobbies and bribes from corporations. Our corrupted politicians are rolling in money.

That's just my take.

15. Growing up poor doesn't mean you stay poor
However, it does mean that you never, ever forget about it.

9. Great!! Happy, there's an
article out about Dennis that's positive because that's what he is..a very positive force. Not, what timmy, the ge tyrant, would have the American public believe.

Kucinich decided to take the power to the people and the people voted to keep Muny Light, also when asked whether or not he would take the same position Dennis said 'Principles don't change with time, you do what is right...'
