The damage by the Supreme Court, republican congress and bush
With a little help with the democratic party.

Everywhere I look things our spiraling out of control. War without in, inflation, poverty, uber-rich, drought. You get the picture.

Is this what the "conseratives in name only" really wanted? Our country is being torn apart, yet I see no evidence of this in peoples day to day life. All of the danger and crisis is under the surface just waiting to burst out. It's poking it's head out.

I'm getting a little scared. My biggest fear is bush will start a war with Iran right before he leaves office, mainly to drive the price of oil up for his cronies along with the war machine. They've set this in motion, they aren't about to change the outcome.

1. But the even more scary problem is most of the American people...
continue to sleep through it all. They are probably glued to their MSM TV and have no clue as to how bad things really are in America.

2. So few people are engaged... so few aware..
THIS is what scares me most. If you buttonhole someone who doesn't really "follow" politics, who is not really interested, you have to bring them all the way back to their High School Social Studies classes to get them to understand what is at stake here.

It's a long hard slog, but it is the mountain we must each climb with the people we know.

3. Thats the very difficult part that you just described... Trying to get many ...
around us (and I mean friends and associates) to wake up... Some days its almost like having to hit them in the head with a baseball bat to make them pay attention.

4. getting people to become aware
I don't think would still get them involved. The machine of politics keeps the blue and red apart for a reason. When in fact we have common ground. The biggest factor in making change is we don't have the leaders in congress or even in the state level to make the big change toward improving and stopping what the bush family and cronies have designed. I do believe we have to many democratic leaders in on this plan or have the blinders on themselves. We need a strong leader, in congress, in corporations who see and forecast the changes we need before it's too late.

5. Easy Fix
Just get Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Janene Garafolo and other current comedic actors and produce a movie for them:

DUDE, WHERE'S MY CONSTITUTION?

A nice digestible civics lesson in movie form for our modern perils.

Think of the promo spots:

Watching this movie could save your country, dude!

The founding fathers are farrrr outttt , mannnn

Two thumbs up for the most patriotic movie of the year.

Missing this movie means you'll soon be missing your constitutional rights for the rest of your life

and so on.......

I think I have what it takes for good screen writing. Hollywood - pm me please!

7. funny you should mention that
I don't get to talk to under 25 people very much. I was working a local fair for my local conservation commission a few weeks ago. Got talking to the kid next to me selling fudge and stuff. As far as land use goes, he inherited some property from grandma that he's turned down offers of over a million in cash! He wants it the way it is because he believes in conservation and granny would have wanted it that way.

When I spologized to him for my generation wrecking the world and the future for his generation and his children's, I also asked him if he had pals that went to Iraq. The answer was he had two cousins that were over there. One is doing psychologist duties in some milatary hospital and he took the lives of a little girl and 30-ish woman while serving, because he had orders TO SHOOT ANY ONE WITH A GUN.

Is there some site on the Internet you can direct me to so I can get my under 25 slang better next time?
